the Jubilant Stranger(for Sleet and Jubilance)

The white and calico longish furred she cat had been hunting not paying attention. She knew well enough she was a good way from the barn in which Darkclan, the home she called now after traveling such a long way from where she was born. Jubilance stopped finally catching up to the price of prey that had made her follow it. Crouching down the she cat bunched her muscles and was about to leap when a noise nearby scared off what she was to catch. Growling a bit under her breathe she stood straight up her senses alert as she looked around and realized just slightly where she was.

The startled mouse darted away from the she-cat, and right into his paws. Sleetfang brought his claws down on the mouse just as it tried to escape into the grass, standing up from where he'd been concealed. "This is RiverClan territory," he mewed with a flick of his ears, cocking his head. He couldn't help but be curious. No familiar scent clung to her pelt; certainly no Clan he knew of. "And tell me if I'm wrong, but you're no RiverClan warrior."

She blinked and her fur bushed out nervously."I did...I appoligize I didn't know I had followed this mouse here a good ways" Jubilance mewed making her fur relax. Bright moss green eyes looked at the warrior."No I'm not this...Riverclan it's this territory do you think you can help me out of the territory"She mewed.

Pretty eyes... "Quite a ways," he echoed, flinging the dead mouse back at her paws. "I can escort you out of our territory, but first, eat and rest. On RiverClan's generosity. You must have come a long way." That mouse could feed their kits, but RiverClan was well-fed this leaf-bare, and he had already hunted for the Clan today. If she didn't eat it, he would've. "Who are you? Where are you from? I don't smell any Clan scent on you..."

He could've chased her out with claws and insults, but this she-cat... Whoever she was, she didn't look like she posed a threat.

Jubilance flicked her tail quietly before she blinked looking at the freshly killed mouse,she had been chasing, that was tossed to her which now rested at her forepaws.  When she was told she could eat and test she didn't refuse the over. Slowly she crouched down tucking her paws underneath her as she took a bite of the mouse.

She paused before she took her next bite and looked up at the Tom. She listened to his questions before she responded"I am Jubilance... I originally came from a place a good ways past Twolegplace but I've been staying with this small group that took me in.....may I ask your name?"she mewed looking up at him curiously

Jubilance... He'd never heard a strange name. That made her a loner? A rogue? When he was in the nursery, he'd always heard rogues were more like foxes than cats, eating kits and disrespecting Clan borders. She looked like just another she-cat. Something told him she didn't eat kits. "Sleetfang. I'm a warrior of RiverClan. These are our hunting grounds." He watched her curiously, settling down to wrap his tail around his paws. "You're lucky I found you here and not someone else," he mewed. "If they'd found you on ShadowClan territory, you'd be worse off than that mouse you're eating." Not that there was any prey worth stealing in ShadowClan territory. He heard they ate snakes. "Between you and me," he mewed with the hint of a slight purr, "let's keep this as our little secret. Some of my clanmates wouldn't be too pleased with me..."

Jubilance relaxed and tucked in her paws quietly as she relaxed more. She had heard rumors or two about the other cats that lived in groups like what he told her. She thought he seemed really nice. As she heard his name and once again his clan name she smiled some"strange name"she mewed. She then blinked at his statement"how worse off?"she asked and paused her eating and looked at him. She decided maybe to be nice and let him have the rest. She slowly sat up flicking her calico tail as she looked at him. She blinked moss green eyes as she said"why wouldn't they....and I can keep a secret"she mewed.

"I could say the same thing about your name," he purred. How did he explain it? The warrior code? "Some cats are... uptight. They wouldn't be striking up a conversation, for sure."

"Oh ok....so....their hostile then..."She said after pausing and flicking her tail"um....here you can have the restthank you for it by the way"she mewed.

"You could say that." He eyed the mouse. Well, he couldn't just turn her down... "Gracious of you," he purred, bending down to scarf down the rest of the fresh-kill. "I appreciate it."

Jubilance watched for a moment before she smiled purring."it's not a problem you caught it for me it's the least I can do for you letting me rest and eat it"she mewed.

"Anything for a pretty she-cat," he mewed with a flick of his ears, smoothing down the fur on his chest.

Jubilance blinked hearing his words and her ears grew hot for a moment. She then smiled a little"play then that's sweet coming from a handsome Tom"She mewed with a whisk of her feathery tail.

There was his opening. He padded closer. "I have to admit I'm weak for sweet things like you," he mewed. "There's more where that came from if you asked for it. I really meant anything. A little mouse like that? That's nothing. Say you want me to hunt for you, and you won't have to hunt for yourself again." He had a liquid purr as the promises started spilling out. His Clan was always well-fed, even in leaf-bare. He would always put RiverClan first, but fresh-kill he would've eaten himself anyways... No one in RiverClan would miss scraps like that. "Mice, birds. Have you ever tasted fish? And I know all the best places to hide. If you don't have shelter—you could even stay here. Safe. Even all those warrior patrols wouldn't be able to track you."

All it took were a few sweet words here and there... "Ask for anything, and it's yours."
