Beetlekit's Medicine Cat Apprentice Ceremony

It had felt like an extremely short amount of time since Cindercloud had gained her full name, and it had felt like yesterday since she had lost her mentor. However, it was time to make one of the kits in the nursery her own apprentice. The medicine cat knew who she was going to wake up, she had had her eye on the kit for a while. Beetlekit had to be the one that was right for the spot. It was the middle of the night, and a cold breeze swept through the camp swiftly. Cindercloud had prepared a bundle of traveling herbs, and now she stood inside the nursery with the bundle at her paws. With her gray muzzle, she gently nudged Beetlekit in order to wake up the sleeping kit.
"Beetlekit, wake up." She whispered softly.

Beetlekit roled over, blinking sleepily. His whiskers twitched, his yellow eyes shileded by his eyelids. He's been having a night,are, with Yarrowkit's last sream over the gorge and the bloody mess of Deerkit's body, carried by a much older Yarrowkit, the size of a warrior. Smokepelt being dragged away from camp by RiverClanners. Ashstar spatting blood, and in her mouthful of blood reflecting a black cat, with gorgeous yellow eyes. Himself.
