Hazekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. WindClan's nursery was filling up- it was time to move some kits to the apprentices' den. She feared RiverClan's retaliation, and the more cats she could train, the safer WindClan would be. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled

Hazekit bounded from the nursery, her fur neatly groomed thanks to her adopted mother. She couldn't contain her excitement, knowing today was the day, the day she turned six moons old!

Smokepelt sat down in the crowd, watching as Ashstar called the clan to a meeting. He noticed a kit who looked around apprentice aged and remembered that she was Nightheart's adopted kit. I hope she's given a good mentor, he thought to himself. Both of his apprentices were around warrior aged and part of him wanted her to be his apprentice. The she-cat's pelt reminded him of his father's light grey pelt and a twinge of pain tugged at his heart.

Ashstar gazed down at the kit. "Hazekit, please step forwards."

Hazekit held her excited smile, taking a peppy step forward, and looked up at Ashstar.

The leader nodded. "Hazekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Hazepaw. Your mentor will be Nightheart. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you."

Hazepaw nodded, remembering the name of her mentor. "Thank you Ashstar!" She mewed, then glanced to the side, catching sight of their clan deputy. Would've liked him as a mentor... He's pretty cute. She quickly shook herself, throwing her thoughts to the side. No, my own adopted mother gets to be my mentor, it's going to be great! She thought.
