The First Colorful Leaf

One day Mudpaw woke up in the apprentices den. He yawned, then he walked out of the den to feel a cool moist air. He turned his head to see a orange leaf, he gasped. He ran into the Apprentices den to tell his friends Sleepypaw and Bladepaw. "Guys I think leaf fall is coming, there is a orange leaf outside" Mudpaw mewed excitedly. "Come look at" he said.

Wakes up by Mudpaw“hmmm.....”Looks at mudpaw sleeply.“what is it...”he said.

"Didnt you just hear me" Mudpaw said. "There is a orange leaf outside" Mudpaw meowed again.

Hawkpaw padded over to Mudpaw. "A dead leaf!" Hawkpaw mewed. "Your right, Mudpaw, leaf fall is probably comming soon!" She bent down and sniffed the leaf.

Pinepaw suddenly pounced on the leaf, making it break into millions of pieces. Her tail swished with triumph. "It's just a leaf," she chuffed, "nothing more."

Mudpaw looked at other trees seeing a couple other colorful leafs. Then the wind blew and a few came off. So he tryed to pounce at one, and hit it to the ground.

Hawkpaw followed Mudpaw. "If there are any oak leaves that fall, i could use some and bring them to Mistyriver." Hawkpaw meowed. She turned to Pinepaw. "Leaves can do more than make good play things..." She mewed, walking past her to gather some dried oak leaves.

Sleepypaw awoke to the voices around him. He sat up, and lightly bumped his head. "Ouch, why do I always do that?" He saw leaves scattered all over the den. He sighed and looked up. "Why is there leaf pieces in the den?" He walked out and picked up a leaf on the ground.

Pinepaw ignored Hawkpaw, and continued pouncing on the leaves. "I can feel the cold of leaf-fall already," she said sharply.

Ivypaw stumbled out of the den,"Wjy are you playing with the leaves?"

Hawkpaw ran into the Medicine cat den and put the dead leaves in a pile in the corner. She came out and gathered some again.

Sleepypaw started to help Hawkpaw.

"It's fun if you try it, Ivypaw!" she meowed, pouncing on leaves a couple more times before rolling on them.

"It really is fun, you can practice hunting without leaving the camp" Mudpaw meowed. "Besides I need to practice for my assement" Mudpaw mewed again.
