The Tallest Aspen in the Camp (Open)

Aspenkit blinked her eyes open as the first rays of sunlight came filtering into the nursery. Great StarClan, it was boring here! The brown kit promptly got up from her mother's side and began to pace around the nursery, not entirely sure what she should do. Play fight? No, all these other kits were just so immature. Urgh. Maybe she could go talk to the warriors. That was a possibility, but she'd spent much of yesterday doing that. Practice hunting on beetles? Sleep all day? There was barely anything for her to do - she could only hope that she'd have more as an apprentice! Aspenkit batted lazily at a small rock, noticing how it was reflected in the surface of a shiny shell. She began to half-heartedly play with the two objects, when she heard a voice behind her.

Amberkit was quietly slipping back into the nursery after exploring the camp a bit. She was almost six moons old meaning that she was ever so close to being an apprentice and found the wait almost unbearable. So, she spent her time doing anything she could to pass the time - including exploring the camp for the untold time. As she stepped back into the cramped - at least in her option - nursery, she spotted one of her denmates, Aspenkit, playing with a rock and shell. A laugh escaped her as she headed over toward her. "You bored as well?" she purred as she gazed down at the younger kit.

Buzzardkit had just woken up and opened his amber eyes. The ginger tom saw two kits, both of them she-cats.
"Hi," he said shyly.

"As a matter of fact, yes, I am bored." Aspenkit replied indignantly. She sighed. She supposed she didn't have better things to do than talk to these immature kits. "You wouldn't have any other ideas, would you?" She only greeted Buzzardkit with a small, curt nod as he awoke.

Amberkit sighed with a shake of her head as she sat down next to Aspenkit. "No, I've been trying to pass the days doing anything I can. I don't know how many times I've explored every whisker-length of this camp." Her gaze flickered over to Buzzardkit as the young tom let out a shy 'hi' toward the two she-cats. She smiled sweetly at the kitten as she flickered a tail at him in greeting. "Hey Buzzardkit," she called over softly. "You want to play a game?" She paused, her eyes flashing back Aspenkit. "Are you up for one, Aspenkit? I mean, playing a game of some sort would at least give us something to do."

"Fine." Aspenkit sighed, batting away a stray leaf. "Moss-ball, maybe?"

"Ok," the ginger tom replied.
