Mosspaw's Warrior Ceremony

This would be only the second time an apprentice of hers would become a warrior. Darkstar was personally excited for this ceremony, and made no time in getting to her den. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a Clan meeting!"

Mosspaw rushed out of her den quickly. She wouldn't be late for a clan meeting again, not after she'd missed half of Sheeppaw's warrior ceremony. What was this meeting for, anyway? Another warrior or apprentice ceremony, most likely. She mentally ran through a list of kits and apprentices ready to be ranked up, the ones she knew anyway. This could be my warrior ceremony! she thought with a tingle of excitement as she took her place among the gathering cats.

Blacktwig once more rushed to the ceremony, as quickest he could. He always strived to be fast, and reckless, and he weaved through the trees to a comfortable spot near Mosspaw. He believed it was her ceremony, and he smiled, although he was not certain.

Mottledpaw joined her father. This ceremony, she was jittering with sheer excitement. Her father was smiling, didn't that mean it was important?

Seeing her apprentice appear, the leader called out. "Mosspaw, please step forward."

Mosspaw could barely contain her excitement, grinning from ear to ear like a tiny kit. It's my ceremony! She flashed a beaming smile back to Blacktwig as she stepped forward, before looking up expectantly at Darkstar.

Her yellow eyes somewhat glimmered with pride as she gazed down at Mosspaw, as if she were her own daughter. "I, Darkstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in turn. Mosspaw, do you promise to live by the warrior code, and protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do!" Mosspaw nodded vigorously. Her eyes glittered with excitement.

Blacktwig sat up straight, now. He was very glad it was Mosspaw's warrior ceremony, as the she-cat had been an apprentice at the time he was still known as Blackpaw. The tom wanted to hear every word Darkstar said.

She forced back an ecstatic grin. "Then by the power of StarClan I grant you your warrior name. Mosspaw, from this moment onwards you shall be known as Mosswing. StarClan honors your intelligence and enthusiasm, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." Darkstar leaped down immediately to cheer the new warrior's name.
