No One is too old for Memories (Closed for Thinny Thin-Thin, Twitch, Cloverpool and Bun Bun)

Blacktwig had left camp with Emberfall last night, had rested up, and now morning had come. The sunrise was beautiful. He glanced down at his kits, two of which would soon be left to fend for themselves in WindClan. He had no doubt that Emberfall would assist them, however, as he turned to face his calico mate. A purr rose in his throat, as he stood up, shaking his pelt of straw-like hay. The musty scent of the old, rickety barn seemed somewhat nostalgic, and the reason was on the tip of his pinkish-red tongue. He gazed at his kits warmly, their milky scent familiar. Yet there was something different; these were his kits.

Mottledkit leapt to her paws as soon as her father awoke. "Ah, Blacktwig." She purred, amused. He was so much taller than her, and this place was different than her birthplace. The scents were hazier. She smiled nonetheless. "Why are we here, again?" She plopped herself down on her rear, yawning with curiosity and impatience.

Blacktwig gave a long nod while she was speaking, listening intently. "Oh, Mottledkit," he purred, addressing her with her name. He was almost too quick to speak another kit's name, but he remembered hers at the last second each and every time. "You'll see."

Emberfall was peeking from the side of the barn with a smile, she loved Mottledkit, she was beautiful. She had been missing all of them ever since they had left her, she knew that the two other kits were great though. She padded over to him with a purr, she licked the side of Blacktwig's treat and turned for Mottledkit "How is ThunderClan sweetheart?" she asked.

Mottledkit nodded. "It's good," she tweeted, "But what about Flamekit and Auburnkit? They have to be left somewhere..." she mewed, her talkativeness sometimes annoying. However, there was no denying that she was beautiful, her mottled red fur combining beautifully with the white underbelly she donned. Her eyes brightened. "Will they stay in ThunderClan?" She asked suddenly and hopefully.

"No, I'm sorry," Blacktwig replied, in his deep, assuring voice. However, he nuzzled his daughter lightly on the cheek, smiling. "Don't worry, though. You'll still be able to see them at Gatherings." He said calmly.

Mottledkit's spirits sank for a moment. Her gaze darkened, before she leapt to her paws again. "Really? Yay!" She cheered, without a single thought.

Flamekit had managed to climb on top of a wooden box that was in the shady corner of the abandoned barn. He didn't like it here at all. The scents were musty and the ground felt hard and small scraps of wood would stick to his paws at times. He looked at his father, mother, and littermates through glittering amber eyes, yet his tail was curled up in disgust. He would much rather be bathed in the scent of milk, while there was soft, green moss underneath his paw pads.
"Why do we have to be separated, father?" Was all he said.

"You must be divided up equally - I will always remember you, and I will see you often, too," he said sympathetically, eyes glistening with sorrow. He loved his son, just as much as the rest of his kits, however, him and Auburnkit had to be left with Emberfall. He glanced downwards as his tiny mottled daughter leapt at his paws, seemingly stalking training. She was the size of an apprentice, and her ceremony seemed to be late. Just like his, when he was a kit.

"Father, he's my brother," Mottledkit pleaded protestingly. Her father was congenial, but this wasn't fair to her. After expressing herself in her words, bold and brave, she padded over to join her flame-pelted brother, eyes narrowed with determination.

Emberfall hated to see her kits in pain, it was horrible to watch them be separated "Just remember though, I will always be by you my kits" she mewed to the two going to ThunderClan.

"Yay!" Mottledkit cheered, not taking the words quite into context. She blinked a few times happily at her brother, and about once at her sisters who were still fast asleep. "Hear that, Flamekit?" She asked gladly, dipping her head formally. A glint gave it all away, though.

Emberfall smiled, it made it all better making her see her mate and kits altogether after birth.

Mottledkit snuggled up next to her father, feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Her paws batted his flank weakly, giving a small smile.

Blacktwig smiled warmly at his daughter, glancing at his two other sleeping kits, curled up in bundles of light brown and auburn. That was Auburnkit's namesake, the sweet she-kit's name for always. He began to feel drowsy and sleepy, all of his family together, but he forced himself to stay awake.

Amberkit toppled over the box as soon as she managed to climb it. She had fallen asleep and now she could hear cat voices, so she thought she should investigate. "Mom...? Who are they?" the kit mewed, alarmed and she looked at Mothkit, Mottledkit and Blacktwig.

Blacktwig blinked at Auburnkit. "I'm your father, Auburnkit," he mewed in an explanatory tone. His fur felt tingly at the tips upon seeing his daughter. He smiled softly, the sunrise getting higher and bathing the inside of the barn in warm tawny-orange color.
