Smile and Wave [CLOSED]

Nutpaw padded back in through the camp entrance, her fur ruffled and wet. She had been chasing some prey and fell into one of the marshes. Sure, she was used to the territory of ShadowClan, but who would want to faceplant into murk? She collapsed by the fresh-kill pile, beginning to lap at her fur with steady licks to get rid of the water and grime. This would possibly take a while. She noticed that she was gaining stares, but she shrugged it off.

"Need some help?" asked the quiet, gentle voice of Adderpaw as he watched Nutpaw with yellow eyes that peered out from behind his thick, black wispy fur. The runt was an older apprentice, warrior aged with muscles hidden under his long pelt. Because his strong legs and muscles were hidden, he appeared scrawny and weak, and his quiet demeanor made him sneaky and suspicious. The tom seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, like always.

Nutpaw looked up at Adderpaw, startled. She then put on her normal smile, "Oh, hi Adderpaw. Some help would be useful..." She said, deciding not to let down the offer. She then continued to lap at her shoulders and paws, flicking her tail so that some murky water sprayed up behind her.

Adderpaw stepped toward her and got to work licking at the muddy tangles of fur on her back, where she could not reach. "How did this happen?" he asked in an amused tone with a rare smile on his muzzle.

Nutpaw took a breathe, letting out a small, soft, and nervous laugh, "I was, kinda sorta, chasing some prey...and I may or may not have fallen into some murk..." The brown and white apprentice said, pausing every now and then to lick at her fur.

Adderpaw laughed quietly, his smile widening. "Don't worry, it happens to everyone at least once," he purred warmly. "Did you catch anything?"

Nutpaw paused grooming herself to grin, "Well, I caught a vole and a mouse. I mean, they're dripping wet, but at least the actual meat isn't soggy." She said, with an amused tone as well. She had been acquaintances with Adderpaw, but she didn't exactly consider the best of friends.
