It's Raining In The Meadow [[Open Birth Topic]]

Meadowlight had been in the nursery for a while now and she had to admit it was nice to just rest and not worry about all of her responsibilities besides the little ones growing inside her. She purred looking down at her swollen belly, giving her belly fur a few quick licks before resting her head on her paws. She sighed contentedly as she thought about what they'd look like and who they'd act like. She was excited to see what little personalities they had and it made her heart flutter with excitement and happiness when she thought about it. She closed her eyes and was about to get some sleep when a sharp wave of pain went through her. She yowled loudly, green gaze glazed in pain as the time between the waves of pain got closer together. Is this it? Is it happening now? she asked herself, somewhat worried that something was wrong. She shook her head, clearing the bad thoughts away before yowling for her mate. "Rainwhisper! They're coming!" She yowled, hoping he heard her. The pain was excruciating and she grabbed a stick between her jaws like she had seen her mother do before when having her second litter. She bit down and pushed as another wave went through her and a gingerish-cream tabby tom was born. She immediately began licking the small kit and nudged him closer to her belly. Her instincts must have been kicking in because she wasn't as worried and she seemed to know what she was doing. Another wave went through her and she pushed again. This time a white she-kit with cream and brown splotches was born. She did the same as she did with the the tom and nudged her toward her belly to join her sibling. She smiled and looked down at them lovingly. "Bumblekit.." She murmured softly looking at the tom. "And.. Silkkit." She purred warmly, licking the small she-kit gently.

Silkkit mewed loudly, kicking around with her weak limbs and tumbling with her brother until she reached the warmth of Meadowlight's belly, and began drinking, her thrashing stopping. Aftr he belly was full, she cuddled with her brother in the soft nest, resting her head on her mother's belly, her body spasming now and then.

Bumblekit was silent as he slid out, and silent even after. His paws caressed Meadowlight's soft belly, and instinctively the golden tom began to suckle. He seemed calm, yet his grumpy nature would take place soon. Bumblekit brushed his smooth golden pelt, plastered to each side, each flank, against his sister's. The warm, familiar scent of milk filled the air.

Rainwhisper ran in just in time to see his kits being born. He watched with wide eyes as his mate named them and smiled. "They are beautiful, just like you. Welcome to the world my kits." He murmured and went over to his mate and gently licked her on the ears.
