Mossy Hearts (OPEN)

Mosskit bounded out of the nursery, ready to explore. She knew she couldn't exactly leave the camp, but nobody would notice, right? She just hoped nobody - kit or otherwise would see her.

Pebblekit peeked from the nursery, he slipped out. Slowly he made his legs run, he gathered over to her "Leaving camp?" he asked, his voice sounded more apprentice like now, he felt grown up.

"Well, why not?" she said dismissively. She hoped that this kit wasn't such a stickler for the rules, at least. "I wanna see all the plants and the territory and things. I need to learn for when I'm older." Mosskit fixed her gaze on the gray tom. "You're Pebblekit, right?"

Pebblekit grumbled under his breath "Yeah..." he mumbled, he moved closer towards her "Anyway I won't tell any cat" he promised, his voice getting quieter and quieter.

She gave him a sly wink. "You wanna come?"

Pebblekit shrugged "I don't know, do I?" he purred, a smile on his face.

"You look like you do. Let's go then!" Mosskit slipped through the gorse wall, beckoning Pebblekit to follow. "Don't eat anything, though. I don't know what's poisonous and what's not."

Pebblekit purred, he knew what was and what wasn't. Glad he had her before she touched anything like that.

Mosskit stared in wonder at her surroundings, the leafy canopy and the rich undergrowth beneath her paws. "We can't stay too long, though. We can't wander off too far either, or we'll get lost." She stayed dead quiet for a second before bursting out laughing. "Getting lost is just part of the fun!"

Pebblekit nodded "Yeah..." he murmured to himself "Uh, can't we just follow our scent back?" he asked, already knowing the answer.

"Well, yeah, duh," Mosskit rolled her eyes. "But where's the fun in that?" She was quickly distracted by a tall fern brushing her leg. She stopped and inspected it, curious.
