Angry Midget [open]

Sunkit waddled out of the nursery on wobbly, short legs. She felt like a lot of her was too small: her legs, her tail, and her common sense were all lacking. Thankfully, she had a surplus of personality. She may not have been the smartest or quick witted, but she knew how to either charm or annoy any cat in her clan. So, as she strolled into the morning sun with her head high, she had nothing on her mind but her image. She probably looked ridiculous, thinking herself a leader when she was the smallest of the kits. She didn't care at all. 

The cream tabby approached a cat with a glint in her eye. "Whatcha doing?" she asked, her stump tail wiggling excitedly.

Sunkit's brother whorled around, gasping in surprise. "Gee Sunkit stop sneaking up on me!" Sandkit squeaked, a glint in his eye. "I-I was just watching the sky..." he sputtered after a moment, answering Sunkit's question. "There might be hawks..." the timid, orange tabby tom lowered his voice to a whisper, the mood growing serious. "An elder told me they can grab kits..." Sandkit's eyes widened "And take them away with only one talon!"

Sunkit snorted loudly. "You're gonna believe the elders?! They can't even remember to clean out their old moss from their dens!" She prodded her sibling with her paw and looked up at the sky. "The only hawk I've ever heard of didn't attack a kit, it attacked an apprentice! This tabby ShadowClan apprentice got attacked and she got a big ol' scar right down her face!" Sunkit made a slashing motion with her claw. "But that was ShadowClan. And anyway, you worry about silly things. If a hawk was coming, somebody would warn us!" She stared up at the clouds, noting that one looked very similar to her mother.

Sandkit's fur bristled at Sunkit's mention of the Shadowclan apprentice. He opened his mouth to say something along the lines of 'what if birds come anyway?' Then snapped it closed, knowing how cowardly he would sound. Licking his chest fur, Sandkit rephrased his sentence. "And that's why we gotta watch the sky..." The kit laid his tail over his sister's back. "The warriors are all too busy to look for birds...It's up to us kits to keep the clan safe!" Sandkit grinned, glad that he could put together a decent sentence without making a total fool of himself.
