Featherkit and Meadowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather here for a clan meeting!" Treestep called across Thunderclan, the clan was growing well and had settled back into their territory well, but the thought remained, how much longer would this last?

Meadowkit padded out of the nursery at Treesteps call, finally getting away from her mothers tongue. She knew this was her and her sister, Featherkit's, apprentice ceremony becuase of how much more Mistywater groomed them and she could put two and two together. She smiled as she got to Treestep and she sat down, wrapping her tail around her paws, glancing behind her to see if he sister was coming. She was excited to become an apprentice, but she was determined to remain calm, so she rested her calm gaze on Treestep.

Featherkit was in a very good mood (for once). She knew it was her apprentice ceremony as it had been 6 moons since the day she was born, her mother wouldn't stop grooming her and Meadowkit, and a few warriors were giving her fond glances as they passed by. They were probably wondering how the sharp-tongued little she-kit would do when she becomes an apprentice.

The black-and-white kit squirmed uneasily as Mistywater continued grooming her, smoothing patches of fur down. Normally, she would hiss and say that she was big enough to do it herself but she let her mother groom her for now. It would be the last time, anyway. Starting from now, she would be doing everything by herself. Her mother groomed one last patch of fur down and finally let her go.

Featherkit sprang up and scampered out of the nursery, knowing that the leader would be waiting for her to go out before he began the ceremony. The she-kit noticed Meadowkit looking at her and took that as an invitation to sit together. She made her way to Meadowkit with an uncharacteristic purr and settled down, wrapping her tail around her paws.

Blizzardshine padded towards the growing group of cats, ready to listen to Treestep’s words.

Blackpaw, who had been apprenticed before his sisters, stepped forth and by their side. He pressed his muzzle affectionately to each of theirs, a small purr escaping him. "Good luck," he meowed, as he stepped back to allow them their rightful ceremony. Though he was silent, he looked as proud as Swiftheart would be.

Featherkit almost shot back with a hiss when Blackpaw briefly pressed his muzzle to hers, but she had decided to be on her best behavior today, so she let sibling be sappy for once without uttering a word of complaint. "You too?" Featherkit groaned playfully. "And thanks."

As the two kits presented themselves knowing exactly what would happen next she didn't bother asking them to step forward. The eagerness that they both help was nostalgic and let many memories flood back into her mind. "Featherkit and Meadowkit, you are both now ready to train and become a strong warrior under the Dark Forest's rule. At this, Featherkit and Meadowkit, your mentor will be Blizzardshine who will train you both extremely well." Treestep dipped her head at the two new apprentices and let out a smile towards Blizzardshine.

Blizzardshine smiled and quickly approached the two new apprentices to touch noses with them. She was fairly surprised to have two young cats to train, but she would do her best.

Meadowpaw glanced at her sister happily. Were gonna train together! she thought excitedly as she padded up to Blizzardshine and touched noses with her.

Featherpaw walked up to Blizzardshine and touched noses with her after Meadowpaw did. Two apprentices with the same mentor, huh? Were they running out of warriors? She turned to Meadowpaw and saw her sister's eyes shining with happiness and the new apprentice gave her a small smile. Whatever the reason was, it didn't matter now. She would be training beside her sister all the time after all.
