I'm on lvl 4 and need to be lvl 5 to join a gym ;_;

Which team should I choose? What are the differences? Which one is the strongest?

Mystic, the team I'm in, has the most people overall, and Instinct has the least. Talk to people you know IRL and see what team they're in - you can team up and take gyms together if you're on the same team. Don't just go off what team is holding the most gyms in the area at the time - they change basically every ten minutes. For example, all the gyms could be Valor one evening, and when you wake up, they could all be Mystic. Basically what I'm saying is don't just go off gyms when making your decision. Or, of course, just pick your favourite colour!

You say mystic thinks they're the best and so cool, then you strait up say we're the best.

If you want to talk about teams thinking their the best, talk about valor.

Valor looks cool, plus I think strong Pokemon are the best, and being strong is a lot of what the game's about.

I've done some research and found out some realistic differences between people in the different teams, in case some of you are uneducated.

Team Mystic ~ Members of Team Mystic approach problems and challenges from a analytical and educational standpoint. According to the game, people on Team Mystic believe that the wisdom of Pokemon is immeasurably deep and worthy of detailed analysis.

Team Valor ~ Members of Team Valor are usually ambitious and determined to meet their goals. They believe that any challenge can be conquered with training, hard work, and a strong bond between themselves and their Pokemon.

Team Instinct ~ Members of Team Instinct look at challenges and obstacles from a much more intuitive perspective in comparison to the other teams. They believe that winning a battle comes down to following your gut and doing what seems like the right choice.

Yeah well I just chose mystic because blue's my second favorite color and they don't offer a green team. I suggest you look at their in-app descriptions and choose whichever sounds most interesting to you. Or your favorite color. It's not really that big of a deal.

Team Valor is the only team that values personal merit and believes power is earned and strength can be built on. Blue is my favorite color and Articuno is my favorite borb, but the other two teams disappointed me so much with their pitches. Everyone else can eat it. ;D

The fact that Mystic always plays Instinct against Valor shows their weakness because they can't handle the heat by themselves.
