Thunderclan's New Deputy

The warm breeze flew through Treestep's coat, she stood once more on the Highrock and called the familiar call, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather here for a clan meeting." Was the cat she chose right for the position? Were they loyal to the Dark Forest? Only time could tell.

Gentlenose padded from the warriors den, taking a seat beneath the high rock. Who would be the new deputy?

Scorchfrost padded forward, silently and respectfully staring at Treestep. So far, his plan had been coming to fruition. He had done nothing but follow orders, and he really did mean nothing else. His chats with his clanmates were extremely casual. Though he never explicitly stated he was loyal, it was vastly assumed by his behavior. By killing Newt, the rogue he met just within the territory, his cover was ultimately secured. His amber eyes twinkled curiously. What kind of meeting would this be?

Blizzardpaw padded towards the Highrock as soon as she heard Treestep’s words, though she had to admit that she still couldn’t get fully used to this. She probably just needed time. The white apprentice sat with her mother and Scorchfrost, curiosity clear in her eyes. She wasn’t sure of what would Treestep say now to the clan, after all, as far as she knew there was no pending ceremonies for kits or apprentices.

Treestep had thought long and hard, she had examined the behaviour of all the clan cats and had made her choice, "I say these words before the Dark Forest and my clan, for them to approve my choice." Treestep started, "Scorchfrost, you have been loyal to the Dark Forest, you shall be the new deputy." She continued, oblivious to the ruse that Scorchfrost had created.

Scorchfrost's heart froze. He would love to be deputy... but was this really the way to do it? He did not let his fear show in his eyes, and he bowed his head to Treestep. "I am deeply honored, as it is my duty to serves my clan and the Dark Forest. I accept this position. Thank you." The tom was smirking under the cover of loyalty. Treestep now had her upmost trust in him. What now?

Gentlenose smiled, happy for Scorchfrost. If her former apprentice managed to keep Treestep's trust, the Dark Forest wouldn't have complete control over Thunderclan. In Gentlenose's eyes, there was no cat better suited for the situation at hand. "Congratulations..." she purred, though her tone conveyed something more. This was a step in the right direction, but how would they take chat complete control of Thunderclan? Was it even possible?

Blizzardpaw smiled and playfully pushed Scorchfrost in a friendly way “Congratulations!” She was really happy for him, even if he was named deputy under these conditions. It was clear in her smile that with Scochfrost as deputy, Blizzardpaw felt a lot more comfortable and a huge weight had been lifted from her, allowing her relaxed and cheerful personality to shine once more “I’m sure that you’ll be a great deputy, Scorchfrost!”.

Mistypaw looked out near the apprentices den, she padded over and nuzzled her dad "Congratulations dad" she purred.

Sedgefrost smiled at his former mentor, happy for him "Have fun setting up the patrols, your going to have a hard time getting used to it" he mewed smiling.
