That cat who you know you like but already has a mate [Closed]

Sedgepaw, the fluffy well-known tom sat in the barn, it was pretty quiet and he was enjoying a mouse, he was almost ready to become a warrior and was a very active hunter.

Vinepaw trotted in from the entrance of the barn and dropped a small mouse into the fresh kill pile, she went for a walk around the barn to stretch her long legs and accidentally came across the mouse. She wasn't complaining though, she got some hunting practice in and got to contribute to the well-being of the clan in one shot. As she lifted her head from the pile she saw Sedgepaw munching on a mouse and her whiskers twitched as her mouth formed a small smile. He was one of the first kits she ever played with and she considered him a friend. Vinepaw walked over to him slowly, her head high and her long, fluffy white tail swishing in the air behind her. "Hey Sedgepaw" she mewed, looking him up and down as she approached. "Looking fluffy as ever" she teased, prodding his side with one of her paws.

Sedgepaw purred and nudged her playfully "I keep my pride with my hair" he chuckled.

"Oh don't worry..I can tell!" Vinepaw purred, squinting her eyes along with a smile as he nudged her. She had never really hung out with Sedgepaw one on one, his sister had always been present, so she wondered what he was like without her. "What are you up to today?" she asked, trying not to sound too eager to hear his answer. Her curiosity always made her feel like she was being nosy, but Sedgepaw was her friend so she didn't really care too much.

Sedgepaw finished up his mouse and laid down to the floor, back down and head up at the roof "Why, I just been lying here" he mewed, he truly was bored, though he couldn't always let that stay in his mind, he had to do something.

"Well lets do something together" Vinepaw mewed, rolling onto her back and mimicking his position. She waved her paws in the air at a fly that buzzed by and looked around the makeshift camp. "How about we put new hay in the elder's den and nursery?" she suggested, flicking hay around with her fluffy tail. Of course a lot of cats saw it as a chore to clean out the dens, but she figured anything with Sedgepaw could be fun. Plus it might earn her some brownie points with her mentor and the other cats in camp.

Sedgepaw shrugged "Sure, why not, it's something to do" he mewed "Where should we find new straw?"

"There's a big square of it up in the loft above" Vinepaw said, rolling over onto her belly and standing up slowly to stretch out her long limbs. Her tail curled over her back as she leaned into a downward dog position, then she stood upright and faced the barn door. "I'll race you" she purred, brushing her tail along Sedgepaw's flank, happy that he agreed to hang out with her.

Sedgepaw purred "Bet you cant win" he mewed "Deal accepted" he laughed with a smile "But I will warn you" he purred.

Vinepaw pawed at the ground like a bull ready to charge, her head low to the ground. "Go!" she yelled, pushing forward and racing towards the ladder that lead to the loft. She wouldn't be able to climb the ladder but that's what made getting up there so fun. It was like an obstacle course, and now she had someone to run it with her. She headed for a half-wall that must have held some kind of animal at one time and jumped up onto it, her long legs letting her reach far to grab up onto it. She paused to look for where her next move would be to and smiled back at Sedgepaw. She didn't care if she won, she just liked the chase.

Sedgepaw bolted after her after she mewed "Go!" he raced his way in front of her "This coat wont drag me down!" he purred looking back playfully. With his loss of Squirrelpaw he hadn't been acting as happy lately, but he did have a small bit of feelings for Vinepaw. Did he like her? Well, her yellow eyes always shimmered in the light, she was very intelligent and nice, she was also playful at most moments like this. Vinepaw always seemed bright since she had lost her mother and father, she didn't really even look sad most of the times he saw her. Sedgepaw thought that was interesting, he too was strong with feelings but, Vinepaw was probably better at that then him, she was younger than him yes, and he would become a warrior soon, but that didn't mean he couldn't like, she was half way there to a warrior too.
