The Hawk wants to Fly!

A small kit of black and brown fur stepped out of the nursery with his green eyes scanning the camp. Wow! Those trees are so tall! Hawkkit's heart thumped from the thought of climbing those trees, to one day bring prey into SkyClan to feed his Clanmates. The young kit enjoyed listening in on the apprentices talking about their hunts, and Hawkkit wanted to be just like them. A warrior even! Spotting a small white butterfly fly past Hawkkit's nose, the tom let out a playful hiss and chased the butterfly around the nursery. Readying his legs, Hawkkit leaped at the butterfly, only to fall in failure as he was too clumsy to catch just one butterfly. "Next time," Hawkkit spat as the butterfly flew away.

Watching the kit try to catch a butterfly, Tinypaw gave a chuckle. He loved watching the clan's new generation live a happy life inside the camp walls. "Good effort," the small legged cat meowed with smile, sitting a few fox lengths away from Hawkkit.

Hawkkit felt a little surprised from the sudden acknowledgment. Turning towards Tinypaw, Hawkkit approached the small apprentice happily. "Thank you! I want to jump so high; those trees won't stand a chance against me!" he exclaimed, "Or maybe, even to the stars!" Hopping around Tinypaw like the determined kit he is, Hawkkit felt rather curious and asked the tom, "How high can you jump?" Hawkkit envied the apprentice as he too wanted to train already, yet the kit felt respect for Tinypaw from his compliment.

Giving a small laugh at the kit's enthusiasm, Tinypaw wondered if he was this happy and joyful as a kit too. "The stars, that's quite a long way, but I bet you can do it!" The white tom meowed with a smile. How high can I jump? He thought to himself. "Definitely not as high as you," he meowed truthfully with a twinge of sadness in his voice. He would love to be able to jump and climb trees like everyone else, but his short legs restricted him from having such fun.

IC: Hawkkit felt hopeful as the apprentice believed that the kit could make it, but the tom felt a little sad for Tinypaw as he noticed the apprentice's short legs in comparison to the other apprentices. "Don't worry; I believe in you!" Hawkkit mewed in an attempt to raise his spirits. "Why don't you try jumping as high as you can," he suggested, "I won't laugh!" Hawkkit leaped into the air once again in excitement, awaiting Tinypaw's response.

Tinypaw honestly wished that the small cat wouldn't have asked him, but he didn't really have a choice now. He was glad to have the small cats support, though he still felt a bit insecure about his small legs. Giving soft sigh and bunching up his small legs, the white tom jumped as high as he could into the air, although with all of his efforts, it wasn't very high. Landing clumsily on the ground, Tinypaw gave a nervous smile to Hawkkit and hearing another small voice, he turned around. "Hi Blazekit," he meowed.
