| Intro I was convinced by some of you through Skype to write down the story of Silverstripe, my very first cat and the one that guided my first steps through the world of written rp, as well as the one that is reincarnating in this world as Moonkit/paw/light. I just want to say that this is the very first time I write anything outside of rp, so any advices, feedback and constructive criticism is gladly welcome!!! Also some of you probably noted already that my native language isn’t English, so I’ll ask you to forgive and point my mistakes so I can fix and learn from them. Another thing I must point out is that the rps this story will be based on, belong to a site that officially died almost a month ago and was ultimately closed by its creator (Though given the low activity on it, you can say that it was already agonizing during at least three months before it was closed, to the point where many considered it dead already), and I don’t even know if any of you were members there before, so if you find something familiar on it or that you feel you saw somewhere else (Such as clan names, cat names or plots), that may be the reason. This will be an obviously non-canon past for an AU Moonkit (I know the admins wouldn’t let me make it canon in this universe for countless reasons anyways XD) and may help you to understand a bit better why I rp her the way I may do. But don’t worry, I know better than to just make her a carbon copy of Silverstripe, after all, Moonkit obviously won’t have the same past and future experiences that she did. This story will be written in chapters, feel free to post between each one to leave your thoughts or reviews if you feel like it.

| Prologue A lonely figure walked through the dark forest, silent as a shadow and clearly desperately looking around anywhere it went, it’s big belly being more than enough to give out the reason of her quest, pale blue eyes, pale enough to be mistaken for silver if not enough attention was paid to them, scanning the forest without leaving a single inch unchecked. Angel panted softly, her silver fur messy and slightly dirty, and her paws barely being able to hold her weight as she struggled to put one paw in front of the other. Since Hunter, the white tom with black stripes that she once fell madly in love with, left her after he knew that she was expecting kits, she had been forced to fend by herself since that bitter day that haunted her nightmares, the only thing that kept her will of living strong being her soon to be born kits. She was thinking about this when her tired paws didn’t found more grass under them, causing her to almost trip and fall. Her quick reflexes reacted to this with unexpected speed for someone who was almost dragging herself across the floor only some seconds ago, quickly retreating and falling on her tail with a small yelp. She looked what had caused her to almost fall. The roots of an old tree that towered over her covered a portion of the floor, leaves covering them like a blanket. It didn’t took her long to notice that just where her paw had been moments ago, was a small hole. Angel tilted her head and pushed more leaves away, making the almost unnoticeable hole grow before her eyes until there was an opening between the roots. After carefully sniffing it and making sure that it wasn’t the home to another animal, she squeezed in, but without some difficulties thanks to her belly, and found herself in a small chamber, well-hidden and protected from the elements. The small place wasn’t the most comfortable, but it would have to do, it wasn’t like if she had much more time left anyways and she felt like if she was about to pass out from exhaustion after all this time of looking around. With a deep sigh, Angel carefully lowered herself, lying down. The soft embrace of sleep claimed her not long after, giving the tired queen a well-earned rest. However, it wasn’t bound to last very long, as a sudden jolt of pain forced her to wake up, apparently she had found what she had been looking for just in time. |

| Chapter 1: A Promise Made To An Angel Spirit was walking through the forest, her snow white fur and sapphire blue eyes standing out against the darkened scenario bathed by the moonlight. Leaf-fall had arrived early this year and the whole forest looked like if the colors of the sunset had replaced those that the forest usually had. The she cat took a deep breath, she still could remember the old days before she left her clan, stripping herself from her old warrior name and replacing it with her current one. It had been her decision, she couldn’t stand keeping the name that the leader of MistClan had given to her when he went mad in his quest for power several moons ago after she went into a voluntary exile, not wanting to see her fur stained with the blood of innocent cats anymore. She had to admit that she had considered returning to her old clan many times before after the death of the bloodthirsty cat, but for one reason or another she never had done so, instead staying on the territory of LeafClan, the clan that had been kind enough to offer her shelter when she needed it the most even if she never joined them. Spirit knew that she was nearing elder age. Her body was still strong and agile thanks to the warrior training she received on her past, but she had to admit that she no longer was the same cat that she had been on her golden moons. She was forced back to the real world by a yowl echoing through the woods. Following her heart, she sprinted towards the source of the sound only to find a silver she-cat lying on the grass that now had a bright red color. The she-cat’s breathing was irregular and the wounds she carried looked terrible. Spirit immediately started to check on her, the eyes of the wounded cat landing on her. Her pupils unable to keep a stable size “Please…you have to…the big oak…under it’s roots…you have to…” Spirit looked at the she cat, whose voice was weak and raspy. “Don’t talk, you’ll only make this worse. Your wound need immediate attention and I know w-” “N-No!” Spirit was taken aback by the sudden reaction of the she-cat to her attempts to help her. Why wouldn’t she let her save her life? “P-Please…m-my kits…” Oh…Ooooooh…That made sense. A queen would always put her kits above her own life without thinking it twice. “You have to…please…t-the fox…the fox!” Spirit felt like a stone sank in her stomach. She had been too worried about saving this cat’s life to wonder what had caused such wounds “Please…save them…please!” She didn’t need to hear it twice. She made a mental promise to return, but she knew that now she was running against time to reach and save this queen’s kits and every single heartbeat was precious. She followed the fresh scent of the fox until she reached the old oak tree the queen had told her about, the fox was already there, digging between the tangled roots in its attempt to reach the kits there. With a hiss, she pounced on the fox’s back with her claws unsheathed, taking the red canine by surprise. She could tell by the stained fur of the fox, as well as the many claw marks and its clearly wounded eye, that the queen really had made a number on it in her attempt to defend her kits. After some time and with some wounds of her own Spirit finally managed to chase the whimpering mess that one stood as a proud fox away with its tail between its legs. She would need to warn LeafClan later, but now she had more important things to care about. Careful to not cause more damage to the already half-destroyed den, she walked inside and looked at the kits. Three in total. The first one was a pure white tom, that unluckily had been reached by the fox before she could save him and was clearly dead. The next one was another tom that looked a lot like his mother, he had several wounds and needed to be taken to a medicine cat immediately. The last one was the only she-cat, a silver tabby kit that, though not unharmed, had managed to come out with the least damage. Not without few complications, she took the two alive kits to the entrance of LeafClan camp, the warriors that came out to greet the well-known rogue were left speechless, and none of their questions were answered before she ran off to get the queen. When she arrived the queen looked at her, clearly nervous “I couldn’t save one of them…I’m terribly sorry. I took the other two with some friends of mine, they’re tending to their wounds” The forest was suddenly submerged in a silence so thick that spirit felt that she could cut through it with her claws. “I…understand…thank…you…” The queen smiled at Spirit “Please…take care of my kits…promise me…that you’ll take care of my kits” Spirit was left speechless and paralyzed for a couple of seconds, only being able to nod as a response at the queen’s request. And with that and a deep sigh, the eyes of the queen lost their shine before closing, her body relaxing. Spirit stood there for some minutes, staring at the body of the queen. She had only met her for a couple of minutes, she didn’t even knew her name, and yet she couldn’t help but pray to StarClan and mourn for her. After burying the queen with her dead kit and saying her last farewells, she turned around and walked towards LeafClan camp, she had made a promise, and she intended to keep it. ______________________________________ Stormkit Windclan Kit [10HP || 30SP] |

| Spirit sat outside of the nursery, the LeafClan cats were kind enough to let her enter to their camp and wait as long as she didn’t go inside of any of the dens. She felt the glare of not few warriors on her back, she couldn’t blame them, she had developed a close friendship with Icestar, the clan’s leader, but she couldn’t say the same of the rest of the clan. If she was still a clan cat and a rogue entered in the camp she would be really nervous too.
Barksong was running from his den to the nursery with all kinds of herbs, his young apprentice, Gingerpaw, trying his best to keep up with him. Spirit couldn’t help but feel a bit amazed. Barksong probably would be already in the elders den, or at least very close to go there thanks to his age, but h still moved around like a young cat. His energy being more than enough to even leave his own apprentice exhausted.
Spirit took a deep breath in a futile attempt to relax. She knew why the medicine cat and his apprentice where moving this quickly. The kits she had saved earlier were in worse conditions than she originally expected, especially the tom. They were doing everything in their paws to save their lives, even a queen named Patchpelt that had lost her own litter recently decided to adopt the two kittens and had been protecting them like if they were her own kits since she saw the warriors bring them inside the camp after she brought them.
Spirit looked at the group of warriors that ran right past her, leaded by Shadowblaze himself. The massive pitch-black deputy of the clan. That cat’s size alone would be more than enough to dissuade many warriors from having a one-on-one fight with him almost immediately. They didn’t took the news of a fox on their territory kindly, especially after finding out that it had just murdered a loner queen and one of her kits, as well as putting the remaining two kits’ life in danger as well, and had decided to chase it away from the territory for once and for all. That has been the fastest unanimous decision she had ever seen the clan make so far.
Spirit knew that Shadowblaze looked like a really mean cat on the outside, but on the inside he was nothing but a gentle giant with a very soft spot for kittens. Well, excluding when he was angry, that’s when he became the cat that all the clan, as well as not few cats from other clans, had learned to fear and respect, and right now he was furious.
She was pulled away from her thoughts by the voice of Barksong, but before she could ask anything he flicked his tail, obviously wanting her to follow him, get away from the group of cats. That wasn’t a good sign.
Taking a deep breath she followed him silently until they were far enough to avoid being heard by the remaining cats gathered around the nursery “The kits don’t look good, Spirit” The raspy deep voice of the medicine cat sounded gloomy “I’m doing everything I can to save them, but with wounds like those and they being so young…I just don’t know if they’ll even make it through the night at all” Spirit’s ears and tail dropped with the news. She couldn’t help it, and she knew that she would never be able to forgive herself if the kits died, for not acting fast enough, for not being able to keep her promise.
“Is there anything I can do to help? There has to be!” Barksong just shook his head slowly, looking at the ground.
“We can only wait…I can’t even bring myself to tell Patchpelt about this. She lost her own litter earlier today, I don’t even want to think about how she would feel if I told her that maybe we won’t be able to save these kits either…she…she even gave them names already” Spirit jaw dropped, yeah, she had seen the queen immediately adopt the kits and try her best to protect them, but she didn’t know that she had gone as far as to give them names. Not even Spirit had managed to even think on naming them yet…and now that she thought about it she couldn’t help but feel a bit bad for that.
“What are their names?” She didn’t know if the kits had already been named by their original mother, they probably were, but she never got to ask.
Barksong looked towards the nursery, looking as Gingerpaw tried to keep everyone calm, even him, with his short experience, knew that there was nothing else they could do for the kits at this point “He named the tom Stormkit, and the she-cat Silverkit” Spirit nodded, looking at the same direction as the medicine cat.
That night was way too tense, Spirit couldn’t sleep well, and she could easily tell that Patchpelt, Barksong, Gingerpaw and even some warriors were having the same issue. More than once she raised her gaze to the sky and closed her eyes, praying to StarClan over and over for the two kits in the nursery.
She noticed Gingerpaw and Barksong taking turns to watch over the queen and the kits, just so in case that there was any complications with them they could act immediately. She wasn’t sure of when exactly it happened, but at some point she fell in a deep slumber.
The soft touch of Barksong’s nose woke her up, the sun was barely starting to raise when she opened her eyes. Even with the sleep she felt even more tired than she was last night. She stood up and shook her head looking at Barksong. He looked really depressed and tired, like if all the years he had managed to avoid until now came crashing down on him during just that one night.
Spirit stood silent, looking at Barksong as he raised his gaze to look at her “Stormkit is dead” Those were just the news that Spirit feared the most to hear, she felt her legs weaken, threatening to give in under her weight “But…” Her ears got straight once more.
“But what?” A small glimmer of hope started to grow deep within Spirit’s chest.
