A new appprentice

Amberclaw walked into the apprentice's den, looking for Snakepaw. "Snakepaw we are going to do you first patrol, let's go now to make sure we can catch the most amount of prey on the way back okay." He said trying to lighten up, Amberclaw hoped that Snakepaw could get past his cold and mature personality.

Snakepaw got up. He didn't feel like he needed to stretch or yawn. He nodded. He followed Amberclaw into ShadowClan territory.

Amberclaw walked out and turned to Snakepaw, "Would you prefer skill training or a patrol, each will make you closer to becoming a warrior."

Snakepaw followed Amberclaw. "I suppose skill training." he answered.

Amberclaw nodded and padded out into a wide area with lots of bushes and trees, "First, listen very carefully one you have pinpointed a sound analyse it to see what is there." He paused for a moment and then continued. "Once you have either pinpointed a scent or noise slowly crouch down like this and pounce when in you view and in the right position." Amberclaw crouched down with his hind legs ready to pounce, eyes pinned on a vole that emerged from a bush, and at this he pounced and quickly bit down to finish it off. "Now you have a try."

Snakepaw nodded. He turned his ears side to side. Like some sort of "radar". He caught a sound of a mouse searching through the leaves to find seeds. He also caught a scent. He crouched down. He started to stalk in the direction he heard and smelled the mouse. He found the prey just finishing some flower seed, maybe a sunflower. He pounced at the mouse. He bit into it's neck, and twisted to kill it. He picked it up and brought it back to Amberclaw.

OOC: Sorry for strange wording I am pretty sick but still trying to type haha :P

Amberclaw was surprised at how fast Snakepaw had caught something, "Very good Snakepaw, you are a very fast learner, I suggest if you are catching a bird that is grounded that when you put all of your weight into your front paws after you have leapt, that way the impact is much stronger."

Snakepaw nodded. He realized his mouse is rather plump. He buried it inside dirt and soil. Speaking of grounded birds, there was one not to far. He didn't need to move his ears to here the bird. He crouched down into the same crouch he did with the mouse. He stalked to the noisy piece of prey. He leaped into the air. The bird tried to fly away, but he was able to get his claws on it. He clawed it hardly. Amberclaw was right, he'll practice doing that, just not leaping high. He brought it back, and buried it next to the mouse.
