| Fawnkit bounced out of the nursery, her delight displayed plainly in her expression. She couldn't believe it! Finally, she got to be an apprentice! Who would be her mentor? She hoped it was someone nice! Would she become a good warrior? To her it didn't matter, as long as she contributed to the clan!

| Spiderfur purred along with her kits, but faltered at Kestrelstorm's name. Another one of her kittens was going to be trained by him? He was a good warrior, but to be honest, her brother scared her sometimes. Hopefully her daughter would be safe. The queen went to lick her children's foreheads and whispered to Fawnpaw with convincing cheer, "He's my brother, but don't expect any special treatment!" Her expression faltered momentarily at her mother's whisper, but the smile quickly came back as she nodded her head. "I'll be fine, mom," she assured the she cat.
