Creeping through camp (for Dandelionheart)

Dandelionkit gave a soft growl and twisted her hind legs upward, effectively unbalancing Thinstripe and letting her manage to get back on her paws. "Show me some moves" she purred, shaking the dust out of her pelt.

Thinstripe stood up with no dust or snow in her fur "Sure" she mewed, she kept her claw sheathed and 'clawed' Dandelionkit's belly softly "That's called a Belly Rake"

"Cool!" she mewed. "Look at this move I saw the apprentices practicing." Dandelionkit leaped forward, landing on Thinstripe's back and then swatted at her head with claws sheathed.

Thinstripe laughed "Your a quick learner" she shook her off and licked her paws

"Can you teach me to climb trees like you did?" Meowed Dandelionkit. She leapt at the tree's trunk, slowly sliding down with her claws scraping the trunk.

Thinstripe nodded "Sure" she grabbed Dandelionkit as if she were her kit and placed her down "Watch me first, were going to jump one branch first and then if you want go all the way up and learn how to come down" she unsheathed her claws and jumped onto one of the bottom branches "Your turn"

Dandelionkit gathered her haunches beneath her and sprang. Her claws sliced at the branch but she still didn't manage to make it up. Growling in frustration, she tried again. This time she managed to hold on to the branch. Determination surged through her and she was able to pull herself up and onto the branch. She turned to Thinstripe, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "Like that?" she purred.

Thinstripe nodded "Just like that" she jumped to the next branch

Dandelionkit followed her with no error. She spotted a sparrow on a nearby branch. "Did you learn how catch birds in trees?" she mewed, her eyes wide at thought of trying to pounce on a bird high off the ground.

Thinstripe nodded "Ya, but I wouldn't risk it you could fall" she stood up and spotted the bird she crouched on the branch and slowly moved towards it. Heartbeats later she jumped up and swiftly bit the sparrows neck.

"Wow!" meowed Dandelionkit.  "You must be a really good hunter!"  Dandelionkit jumped to the branch Thinstripe was on and asked, "Are you going to show me how to get down now so you can put your bird on the fresh-kill pile?"

"Yes, just follow what I do ok?" she kept her claws unsheathed and jumped down onto the next branch. when she reached the bottom she sat down and dropped the sparrow on the ground "Ok you can go"

Dandelionkit crouched on her branch and then leapt to the next one. She managed to grab it with her forepaws but her hind ones hung in the air. She scrabbled madly and finally made it to the branch. She jumped to the next one in a much neater fashion and then leaped to the ground.

"Good job, you just need to work a little more on your balance" she picked up her sparrow and trotted over to the fresh-kill pile, she walked back over to Dandelionkit "So what do you want to do now?"

Dandelionkit yawned. "I'm a little tired. Maybe tomorrow you could teach me how to stalk prey?"
