Training for hawkpaw (closed for Tyleca)

Pinefur walked out of the warriors den and walked towards the apprentices den. "Hawkpaw, come out for training." He called inside and waited for his apprentice to walk out. He sat down and shivered in the cold.

Hawkpaw, heard his name and slowly opened an eye. He saw his mentor, Pinefur, walking out of the entrance. Hawkpaw stood up and stretched all of his limbs, he was going to be doing training after all. He then padded over to the entrance and found Pinefur waiting for him. Hawkpaw trotted over to him and said "I'm ready!" enthusiastically.

Pinefur smiled "good! I've decided to let you decide what you want to do today. So, battle training or hunting?" Pinefur asked getting up from where he sat

Hmmm. He enjoyed training for both, but his battle skills were a bit rusty. "Battle training sounds good!" he replied. "Are we going to train in the sandy hollow?" he asked.

"Yep." Said Pinefur. He turned around and ran out of the camp "Follow me!" He called back as he ran into the forest.

Hawkpaw nodded his head in agreement and pelted after his mentor through the territory. Hawkpaw was still a relatively new apprentice and all of this work was making him tired. But it would be worth it for the day he became a warrior, and served his clan well. He slowed down as the sandy hollow came into veiw.

Occ: have you learned the battle system yet?

Ic: Pinefur skidded to a stop at the sandy hollow and waited for his apprentice.

OOC: Im currently finishing up a battle system training topic with a winterpaw and I did Mass Battle Training. So yeah, I know how to use the battle system, or at least the majority of it.

IC: Hawkpaw skidded to a halt, almost falling on his paws. He noticed Pinefur looking at him so he stood up straight and shook the dust off of his pelt. Once he was ready he asked "What do we do first?"

Ooc: Ok, first try a front paw blow. Your HP and SP is 20/80. 20 SP 80 HP. If you need help look at Rules then press battle system or rank system or ask me.

Ic: Pinefur got up from his sitting place "First I'll show you how to do a front paw blow" he said. Pinefur walked over to a bush

Ooc2: I'll use an apprentice's HP and SP for the bush

Pinefur walked away from the bush "Now you try." He said

Hawkpaw nodded his head and padded over to the bush and hit it with sheathed claws. As he did so some of the very few dried leaves rattled and fell onto the forest floor. "Was that good?" Hawkpaw asked.

OOC: Did you switch the bushes stats? Im pretty sure apprentices have 20 HP and 80 SP.

Ooc: no I didn't switch them. I did 20/20 Sp and it lost 14 Hp when I attacked it so it now had 66/80 Hp

Ic: "that was very good!" Said Pinefur. He smiled "would you like to try again just to make sure that it feels right?" Asked Pinefur sitting down

IC: "Sure!" Hawkpaw replied. He swiped his paw once more over the bush.

OOC: I think I did it right this time! Sorry, it's just that everyone I've seen does it slightly differently.

"That was great!" Said Pinefur "you're a natural. You can go back to camp and hunt on your way if you'd like." Said Pinefur smiling.

"Okay. I'll try and find some prey before I go back to camp. Im going to catch a squirrel!" Hawkpaw replied. He loved squirrel. It wasn't easy to catch, so he hoped he would impress Pinefur if he caught one. Hawkpaw blocked everything out of his senses except for the scents and sounds of prey. He started to walk back towards camp before he scented something he liked. Squirrel!

He dropped into a hunting crouch and stalked toward the scent. Eventually he stopped when he saw a flicker of red fur in the snow. It must be foraging for nuts he thought. He walked forward making sure not to have his paws crunch in the snow. Eventually when he was close enough to pounce, his legs were trembling with exhaustion, but he was too determined to catch his prey. He leaped into the air and landed squarely on top of it. He did a quick bite to the throat, a quick and painless death. He scented the air but couldn't smell anything else. "Might as well head back to camp. Im sure I can share this someone." he mumbled. He picked up the squirrel with his mouth and headed back towards camp.

Good catch! thought Pinefur. He padded after his apprentice to the camp
