Trudging through the sludge

A young kit with steel blue splotches upon her perfectly white pelt was trying to find her way through this icky land. Little legs and paws moved the child as best they could until a tree laid before her. "Goin' up?" The petite kitten questions herself before unsheathing daggers and beginning the scaling of the oak. Although the lowest brach would be comfortable, it was really high up, or at least it was to kits! The orphaned baby finally reached her goal and laid on it; boy, was she ever tired!!! Sapphire eyes began to close to allow the little kit into the land of dreams.

IC: Frostwhisper stepped carefully through the muddy snow, hoping not to get her white fur too dirty. An alarming scent caught her attention...it was the scent of a rouge. She silently unsheathed her claws and gave up on trying to not get dirty as she moved towards the smell without a sound. The Shadowclan warrior's green eyes searched for the source of the nasty rouge scent, but found no one. Finally, Frostwhisper looked up to see a shape huddled on a tree branch. The branch was pretty low, or low enough for her to climb to it at least. The she-cat did her best to stay quiet as she scaled the tree, stopping at the branch with the sleeping figure on it.

A...kit? She thought, surprised. "Young one, wake up," Frostwhisper purred gently as she nudged the child with her muzzle. "Where is you're mother?" Though Sapphire was a rouge, she was still a kit and Frostwhisper needed to make sure she was safe. If there is a kit, there has to be a queen...right? That means that there is probably other rouges around, unless if this poor child was abandoned...

The loning babe woke up swiftly when a fluffy she-cat appeared. Her expression was filled with alarm and fear. But....this person didn't attack her, which made the  kitten confused. " Mother?,"she mewed, "What's a mother?" Nothing about that word registered in her memory banks. Her little blue orbs begged this big kitty to tell her what exactly a ' mother' was. Her little tail twitched back and forth and the nameless child knew that she wouldn't hurt her. "Ha, ha, ha! Wanna play?" A open smile cracked on her face as she flopped her splotchy grey/blue and ivory body over and began swatting playfully at an imaginary butterfly.

Frostwhisper was taken aback by the kit's reply. "Well, a mother is...um...a mother is a person who uh...who gave birth to you." Her answer didn't matter, for the rouge had already moved on to a whole different topic. "Play?" Frostwhisper repeated with a smile. She looked up at the sky, there was still a bit of sun left before dark. About an hour or so. "How about this; I play for you for a little bit and then you come back with me to my home. You'll be safe there and lots of kits your age live there who love playing. It's like heaven! I'm sure you'll love it."

"Oh. I.... Don't know my mom then." The child couldn't help but feel horrid not knowing who brought her into the world. Then the discussion of play cheered her spirits with a small deal that the fluffy lady would play withe her a bit, and in return, she would get to meet other kittens and play with them!! Oh what a deal! It almost seemed if the cats in the stars were right and this would begin a new life. But it wasn't the kind she feared so much; it was the life she dreamed of--friends, a home, and so on and so forth. But there was only one problem she thought of ... If these two met again, how would she know if that would be the same friendly she-cat as this? Her maw of newly bared teeth asked with most curiosity before plotting to attack her friend's tail, " What's your name?" (After your cat's reply) The little baby buched up her blotchy form and lunged for a champagne colored rear appendage.

Nightpaw was taking Silentkit out to play. The two found Frostwhisper and the kit. Nightpaw relaxed knowing kits are no threat. He had a soft spot for kits too. "Hello." he greeted the kit.

Silentkit nodded a "Hello" to the kit.

Frostwhisper's heart dropped when the rouge said that she didn't know her mom. Suddenly, something struck her. Frostwhisper's son, Shatteredpaw, didn't know his father. She wondered if it hurt him as much as it hurt the kit...maybe that was the reason that Shatteredpaw didn't talk. Anxiety.

"My name is Frostwhisper," she said in reply to the child's question that pulled her from her thoughts. She giggled when the fluff ball lunged at her tail. "Why so bipolar all the sudden, young one? Did my fluffy tail make fun of you or something? Is that why you are attacking it?" She laughed as she spoke, swatting gently at the kit with a paw to fight back. A wave of embarrassment came over her when Nightpaw and Silentkit appeared. It was awkward to have them see her playful...she was always quiet and kept to herself. "Hi, Nightpaw. Why is Silentkit out of camp? Kit's aren't allowed outside, especially without a warrior." Her soft and soothing voice was hard to make stern, so her scolding questions sounded curious instead.

From a overturned state, the kitten mewed back, " With all the movement, it's just rather tempting to pounce FrostWhisper! " Her paws brought FrostWhisper's to the mouth of scarce teeth and back feet made a motion like a rabbit's leg jumping continuously. But a voice appeared from below. The nameless child ceased to rough house to peer over the branch with wide azul soul windows looking at the two below, then her gaze refaced the warrior. She looked back down at the pair until saying a salutations. " Hiya! You two friends of Frosty? " Ugh. Introductions were always hard for the nameless baby; for she had never really been gifted with an actual name!

Mudfoot padded out of the Warriors den after a nice nap. He shook his pelt, loving the frostbitten air. "Hello Frostwhisper. Who's this?" The charming tom said softly, looking at the kit.

"Well, we do know each other." Nightpaw said. "Also, Frostwhisper, I'm warrior aged. Thrushstar just has a lot on his paws already." he also said.
