Distraction (OPEN)

Leafsnap was hunting by Skyclan's old territory- nothing special. She had found a winter hate and chased it far all the way to the... Dogs. She didn't notice at first, but when she did, she was terrified. She screamed and ran off, terrified of what could come. Eyes fearful, she didn't notice the dip in the ground where the dogs had scratched down into the earth. She tripped and hit her head hard on a rock, killing her within seconds...

Spiderpaw had been wandering about, hoping to find some sort of prey to take back to their temporary home. A rabbit had caught her eye, so she followed it until a familiar scent crossed her path. Her quarry had gone into its burrow, and now she had nothing left to do but greet her mother. "Hi Leafsna-"

The she-cat froze, eyes wide and paws fixed to the dirt. She could barely comprehend what was in front of her. "M-mama? Mama! MAMA!" she cried, burying her nose in her mother's cold pelt. How could this have happened? First her home, then her sister, and now her mother?

Kestrelpaw ran up behind his sister, hearing her wails. "What is this? What happened?" he cried, seeing his dead and bloody mother. "What? What?" he paused, turning and running away. "Falconstar!" he cried.
