October's Gathering

Only the bitter cold winds made a sound, their howling and shrieking piercing in the clearing. Alone, the moon hung full awaiting the arrival of the five clans, shining down and illuminating the great oaks. Their gnarled fingers scraping against each other without a leaf in sight to cushion it's branches.

As Fishstar entered the clearing with RiverClan in her wake, she was pleased to see that her Clan finally the first to arrive. It was a little strange to be in Fourtrees while it was empty, but she preferred it over squeezing through a hundred cats to get to the centre of the clearing.

As she leapt up the Great Rock, she could still feel a faint weakness in her limbs. The sickness that had gripped her Clan a few sunrises ago had taken one of her lives, so she hadn't fully recovered from the incident yet. She wouldn't tell the other Clans about that, but she would urge them to take precautions so they didn't contract the illness as well.

He did his best to hide his limp the entire journey there to Fourtrees. It was taking far too long to clean up the mess the storm had left in their camp, and the damage that had occurred to his body left him without another life, but still he refused to have himself or the rest of his clan appear weak. It was the foremost rule, even among rogues. Of you were weak, you died. He couldn't allow himself to appear as much, especially after so long.

SkyClan was the second to arrive. Breezestar led his clan into the clearing, glancing at the RiverClan cats and pausing at the top of the Great Rock. Thankfully, while his jump up there wasn't as graceful as it normally was, it was still acceptable. "It's been some time, Fishstar." He said in greeting.

Sandpaw followed Breezestar into Fourtrees. She had been doing her best to avoid Maplepaw and Deerpaw after their fight. She stayed close to Breezestar but broke away as her leader left to talk to Fishstar.

Thrushstar was next to enter with his clan not far behind. This was not something he wanted to do tonight. There was too much to be done back at camp... too many of his clan that were still seriously injured from the twoleg traps. It made them vulnerable and the leader didn't want to risk dropping any kinds of hints to the other clans about it. If they were still going strong, this could probably be the end of Shadowclan. Hiding behind a stone-cold expression and an intimidating glare, Thrushstar leaped up with massive power onto the Greatrock, giving a quick nod to the other two leaders. He wasn't exactly concerned about Skyclan right now and Riverclan wasn't the biggest worry either; Thrushstar was seriously concerned about Windclan and Thunderclan, though, and that was all he could think about as he sat in silence waiting for the Gathering to begin.

Fennelcloud walked in behind her father, giving him a look of worry. Thankfully she hadn't been hurt in the incident that went down in Shadowclan, but she was worried for how Thrushstar was handling it and if Magpiewing was still alive. This gathering was completely pointless right now, but Starclan wanted it...

Spottedstar looked down the slope, already seeing three clans, and she thought they left early. Signalling and bounding down into the clearing, she weaved through cats and to the Great Rock. Giving a good leap, she made it up the rock, nodding to all three leaders in turn, taking her own place to look over the clans.

Brokenpaw padded quietly after her clanmates into the gathering. She stayed quiet as she padded. She hadn't really talked to much anyone anymore and the she cat had somewhat grown cold and a tad bit distant. She was quiet as she found a spot to sit down. The broken tail and pawed she cat looked around before quietly looking to the leaders.

Sunpelt leaped down the slope into the clearing after Spottedstar, the crisp wind whistling past his ears. He watched his front yellow-smudged white paws as they moved in a smooth, graceful rhythm, relishing the clear night sky with a full moon shining brightly on Fourtrees.

Petalpaw trotted nervously after ThunderClan, keeping her head low. She knew no one would focus their attention directly on her unless she went to the center of Fourtrees and did a boogey dance, but she felt like everyone's eyes were on her. Her ears were flat and her tail was almost tucked completely under her belly.

She looked at all the cats from the corners of her eyes, her pelt heating up every time a cat from another cat got too close. The bitter evening chill stung her eyes, causing them to water dramatically. Petalpaw blinked vigorously, but the wind kept blowing stiffly into her blue eyes, so she eventually settled on sitting quietly by herself and keeping her eyes closed as if she was a Twoleg horse sleeping while standing - the elders had told tales of those strange creatures before.

Swiftpaw walked over to her clan mates and sat down. She felt kind of nervous, this is her first gathering. Who will I meet? she thought. Her tail twitched with excitement. She calmed down and started to lick her paw. She looked around at the other cats.

Bluesong followed Spottedstar with her head held high. She looked at Petalpaw.
"Gatherings are fun," she assured.

Featherpaw joined her clan. She sat down, this was her first gathering and she was excited to meet some cats

Petalpaw jumped at Bluesong's voice, and then relaxed. "Oh, good," she sighed with relief. "It's you." She scooted a little closer to her old denmate out of nervousness. "Are you sure they're fun?" she checked warily. She looked around the clearing with full sight for the first time. Spotting Swiftpaw, she thought, If Bluesong is right, maybe I could talk to that apprentice. She looks about my age. Petalpaw looked up at Bluesong, waiting for her response.

Falconstar led his clan in last, surprised that all the other clans had gotten here so timely. Making his way up onto the Great Rock, he nodded to his fellow leaders. His thick coat, unusual for a WindClan cat, made the oncoming cold winds a lot more bearable to handle.
