Ripple boo

Ripplekit bounced through camp, he had grown and was much bigger than the average kit. He had long legs now, and a broad face. But his eyes still had their mischievous gleam to them. He was just bound to get into trouble again.

Slushpaw snuck up behind her brother, claws sheathed however. She lifted her haunches and sprung. She pinned him down. "Hello brother." She purred, licking his forehead. "Now I'm stronger and faster than you. Haha."

Ripplekit let out a surprised mew.
"Hey!" he grunted," Get off me, you great lump!"
Ripplekit rolled away. His usual happy gleam in his eyes had faded away a bit to a dull stab of anger, resentment, and of course, sadness. His sister had been made an apprentice even though Ripplekit was her age. He never fully understood why he wasn't made into an apprentice. Whenever he saw his sister he got a stab of jealousy and a hint of resentment that mostly directed at his leader. He forced a smiled to play across his muzzle but it took his concentration to keep it on.
"Hey... Slushpaw," he mewed, his voice edged with depression.

"Oh, Ripple Boo, what's the matter?" She asked quietly. Even though she knew, she wanted him to explain it further. She felt terrible that she was an apprentice earlier- she'd give up her title to still be a kit with him.

Ripplekit looked at her sadly.
"I just hate how Fishstar didn't make me an apprentice. I am same age as you, and just as capable... but I think it has something to do with me taking you and Barrenkit to the river,." Ripplekit shuddered, remembering the cold water that enclosed around him.

Whitefoot finished grooming nearby when he over heard the younger cats conversation, turning his amber gaze to his young "friend" He mewed, "I wouldn't worry if I were you, I'd be practicing basic skills and techniques so when you become an apprentice you'll be close to your littermate in skills."

Hissing at Whitefoot, she turned back to her special Ripple- her favorite brother. "Oh, Ripple, you know I'd give anything to be with you. You'll be an apprentice before you know it- but remember, training isn't very fun. It's no easy either, I'm still a noob." She purred, licking his head again.

Ripplekit's eyes turned to Whitefoot. They turned horribly cold at the warrior, colder than ice. His voice was rough and full of pure hatred.
"Well that's an if[/if]. No warrior wants to train a nuisance, a [i]kit that lead two other kits to the river and almost got drowned. I personally think no one wants me around," Ripplekit began. He had blurted it out. He wasn't thinking now. Hatred and anger began to overwhelm him. He should've been an apprentice now!
"Especially Fishstar," Ripplekit turned his glare over to Whitefoot, where a massive amount of loathing stood," Whitefoot, is there something wrong with me."

Wisteriapaw was bored and pawing a flower when the unapprenticed kit began making a fuss. She was in a grumpy mood and the situation she heard was not helping. "Stop that!" Wisteriapaw snapped, standing up. "Do not disrespect a warrior like that! Who do you think you are? A young cat can not make dangerous mistakes and expect to not be punished!" she hissed, her soft grey ears pinned back.

"It's not his fault! Leave him alone!" Slushpaw hissed back. oh Starclan not now... Make the anger leave me and Ripplekit, please...

Ripplekit spun around and came nose to nose with Wisteriapaw. His anger and resentment had burst.
"You don't order me around! You are not my mentor, my mother, or my leader!" Ripplekit snapped, his voice harsh and full of hatred. His eyes were filled with attitude and were even colder now.
"So no not. Order. Me. Around. I will not give an ounce of respect when I am treated like Mouse-Dung," Ripplekit snarled.

Before whitefoot could comfort the young Tom, the medicine apprentice strode in and then the yowling and insults began. Standing and puffing his chest he lashed his tail. "Wisteriapaw! I am your elder I can handle this fine. You need to go back to your duties and leave us be!" Stepping in between the Young cats he nudged Ripplekit away and murmured softly, "come with me and we can talk in peace" dipping his head to Slushpaw for defending her sibling.

Slushpaw was honestly surprised. Whitefoot... Being nice to her?! She blinked, but dipped her head back. "Please comfort him." She pleaded silently.
