Creampaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the willow branch for a Clan meeting!" Fishstar shouted over the activities of the RiverClan camp. Another special day had arisen for an apprentice.

Salmonstripe padded out of the nursery. Today she had a special feeling about this ceremony. I think it's Creampaw's warrior ceremony!

Dewleaf purred, pleased from her playtime with Whitekit. They had grown very close since the day of his fight with Raccoonkit, she sat at the edge of the crowd with him in fact. Is this a ceremony? Creampaw? She looked around the clearing for her best friend, recalling how upset she was during her very own ceremony that it wasn't hers.

Whitekit trotted out of the nursery after Dewleaf happily, he was glad he didn't have to stay in the nursery with his "Siblings" and actually get to watch his first ceremony. Dewleaf had explained to him what to do at the leaders call. Sitting closely beside her he easily kept his cool, and waited to see wha would happen.

Salmonstripe looked at Creampaw. Why... Why do you hate me? I am happy for your ceremony! I'm trying to be nice and this is what I get? She sighed. She still liked Creampaw; but Creampaw hated her.

Tansypaw padded out of the apprentice's den and saw her friend Creampaw sitting in front of the willow branch. Was it her friend's ceremony? Even though the apprentice was younger than her, Tansypaw was happy for her. She walked over to Creampaw. "Your ceremony?" she purred.

Whitekit glanced at the new cat, "My name is whitekit, for my only white foot!" The ginger and white tabby purred as he remembered what Dewleaf had said. He gave an inward sigh, I have to be polite. Is this your first gathering too?" He mewed trying to be nice.

Dewleaf purred a greeting and leaned over to give her friend a quick lick on the ear.

The queen wanted to bound over to her kit and Dewleaf and her so-called-former-friend, Creampaw. Instead, and tucked her head and her body into the nursery and sobbed silently.

Dewleaf had caught sight of Salmonstripe, but sensing the tension between her and Creampaw, had decided to talk to her about it later.

Whitekit tilted his head as he heard her speaking to the other cat, he was a pretty good eaves dropper. "Warrior?" He mewed nudging the cat. Once he had a question he needed the answers.

Dewleaf nudged the kitten, "Leave her be little one, you'll see soon enough" She purred at his inquisitive personality and awaited for the ceremony to begin.

Mistfeather, who had magically replaced Fishstar, looked down at the apprentice.

"Creampaw, please step forward," she began.

"I, Mistfeather, deputy of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in turn." The deputy paused and smiled at the she-cat. "Creampaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Creampaw, from this day forward you shall be known as Creammist. RiverClan honours your kindness and enthusiasm." With that, the deputy leapt down to join the cheering crowd.
