Tinykit is bored

Tinykit walked into the nursery. He sat down and looked around.
"I'm bored. Does anyone want to play?"

Tanglepaw paced around the camp. Her mentor was no where to be found. She hadn't even trained once since receiving her apprentice name. She noticed Tinykit sitting at the entrance to the nursery. "I'll play" she mewed. She needed something to do, and until she actually got some training she'd just be a kit with an apprrentice name.

"Yay!"

Tinykit brought out a ball of moss and through it to tanglepaw.

Tanglepaw batted at the ball of moss before hitting hard and sending it sailing over Tinykit's head towards the other side of camp. "Ah ha!" She mewed in delight. This reminded her of playing in the nursery with her siblings just a short while ago. It was relaxing and familiar.

Kestrelkit spotted Tanglepaw and Tinykit throwing a moss ball around and wanted to play. She hadn't been recovered long from when she was ill, and she was desperate for something to do. So, she scampered over to the playing cats and waved her tail to get their attention. "Do you mind if I join you?" she asked them.

"I don't see why you couldn't. Sure, come on!" Tanglepaw said. She dashed across to where the moss ball had landed and pushed it over to Kestrelkit.

"Kestrelkit," Icepaw said firmly walking over to the kits and apprentice. "Don't play to hard or you might never get better." He said in a calm but stern tone. As an older brother, Icepaw wanted to protect his sister even if it meant she was bored for a few more days while recovering. "And Tanglepaw" He gave a small sigh. "Don't you have better things to do than play with kits? Like help the elders or go on a patrol?" He looked down into the younger apprentice's eyes. He didn't want to sound bossy but there were many things to be done besides acting like a kit.

"Uhh" Tinykit groaned " please Icepaw, it gets boring in the nursery."

"It's fine if you play, just take it easy." He replied, softly cuffing the small kit on the ears.

Tanglepaw felt a twinge of guilt. She stomped away, angry that Icepaw had been right and equally angry at herself for acting like a kit. She wasn't going to act like a kit any longer. From this point onward, she was going to be the best apprentice she could be, with or without her mentor's help.

"Tanglepaw!" Icepaw yelled to the apprentice as she stalked off. "I can help you train if you want" He said in a more sweet, giving tone.
