A Setting Sun

Lightningkit sat out side the nursery. The bright glow of the sun made her white fur gleam and her black lightning shaped mark glow. She wasn't allowed to go outside of the nursery during day. She never knew why. She had gotten used to the same routine. Once the camp was in their dens', she would go and explore camp. Often times, she would fall asleep and wake up to the rising sun which meant she had to get back into the nursery. This sunset though, looked remotely different. She had never seen the bold colors mingle like this before. It made her wonder, is it an omen from starclan? she fell asleep next to the fresh kill pile. The next morning she awoke to something different. Her mother let her go outside in plain daylight. than she announced something that explained everything to Lightningkit. Those five words would forever change her life. "Her father is a kittypet."

Russetkit saw Lightningkit exit the nursery, and he wanted to play with her. Even as a young kit, he could not help thinking that Lightningkit was attractive. Her white fur seemed to glow in the bright sunlight, and that was something Russetkit admired about the other kit. However, being the playful kit he was, Russetkit sneaked over to Lightningkit and pounced on top of her, although, he made sure that he did not land on the other kit too hard. The last thing he wanted was to hurt Lightningkit.
