What Are You Doing

Softsong had recently recovered from her bit of greencough decided to do a border patrol or maybe just hunting, she wasn't sure. The gray and silver warrior padded from the camp into the territory of her clan. She padded quietly through and past jagged rocks and boulder. She soon stopped spotting a cat not far off coming from the direction of the border of the Thunderclan territory.

Duskfall had been chasing a rather fast, and agile squirrel all over the woods, he knew that it was a lost cause, but sheer stubborn will drove him to chase the infernal rodent. He didn't even realise that he'd crossed the Skyclan border on his fruitless quest to catch the prey.

Which is why he definitely didn't notice the Skyclan warrior nearby. He was far too focused on the squirrel, which had escaped him and raced up a tree. Out of sight, and out of reach.

"Mousedung!"

Softsong watched before she padded over. She kept herself calm she wouldn't resort to a fight if it wasn't necessary. She looked at the warrior with ice blue eyes"what are you doing on Skyclan Territory"She mewed looking at him her ice blue eyes narrowed some.

Duskfall turned abruptly, surprised by the voice that came from nearby him. Skyclan Territory? He thought to himself confused, there was no way. Until a quick look around, and a sniff gave away that he was very much in Skyclan Territory. He'd screwed up.

"Would you believe me if I said it was an accident?" He spoke with an awkward shrug. The last time this had happened, he'd nearly had his ear clawed off by a fierce Riverclan tom. He wasn't keen to repeat that experience.

Softsong flicked her gray tail tip"hmm i suppose i could believe it"She mewed for a moment"i mean i did see you chase that squirrel from your territory and up the tree in Skyclan territory...."She mewed smiling slightly before she mewed"but...that doesn't excuse the fact that your still on Skyclan territory"Softsong mewed her eyes unarrowed and looked normal.

Feeling that this rather pretty Skyclan she-cat probably didn't want to claw his ear off, Duskfall felt a little bolder when he spoke back to her. "I'd return, but I'm afraid I've been mesmerised by a beauty and cannot move."

Duskfall was a little teasing, but really he was surprised by the beauty of the silver/grey she-cat with the most intense ice blue eyes he'd ever seen. He felt drawn to her like a moth to a flame, now that he actually looked at her instead of awkwardly shrugging in hopes of not being killed.

Softsong blinked a tad bit surprised by his reply. She wasn't expecting the answer he gave her and for a brief moment she was speechless. She looked at himand after a brief moment she mewed"thanks... i guess but you'll need to get back to your territory"Softsong mewed looking at him.

"Of course." The awkward silence had definitely turned down his bold overtures, he too was now feeling a tad awkward. His tail swished against the ground, as he tried to think of what to say before he left. She was a pretty she-cat, and all his instincts were shouting for him to do something so she wouldn't forget him.

"Wait a second." He spoke before dashing off into the woods, he climbed the tree where he'd last seen the squirrel. After a few rustles of branches, and a high pitched yowl, Duskfall climbed down with a squirrel in his jaws. He approached her and placed it before her. "As an apology for crossing the Skyclan border."

Softsong blinked omce then twice. She smiled a little as if she couldn't help ot at that point."i love the gesture....."she mewed. She definitely wouldn't forget him. She had to admit something about him she she liked. She smiled quietly"what's your name?"

"My name? Duskfall of the Thunderclan." He replied, preening a little as he was quite proud of the fact he was a Warrior now. He also quite liked his name, Coalfur always teased that he would be named Duskdawn because he's a silly backwards cat. Luckily Owlfeather was wise in her choice of names, so now he could proudly state it to the pretty she-cat without shame.

"And yours?" Duskfall tacked on hopefully.

"Duskfall thats a cool name"Softsong mewed to herself slightly before she smiled."my name's Softsong im from Skyclan obviously"She mewed looking at him.

"Softsong, that's a beautiful name. Um, you know, yeah." Duskfall trailed off slightly hesistantly, before clearing his throat to speak. "I'll be off then, I hope to see you again sometime. Maybe at the next gathering?"

OOC: Maybe we can have an after Gathering post? So a thread at the Fourtrees set as the Clans are leaving Fourtrees and they meet again?

Softsong ears heated up slightly before she nodded"yeah maybe we will"she mewed.

"I'll be waiting!" Duskfall called out as he ran off back to his territory, head facing her. He stumbled a little on a fallen branch, but got up again quickly embarrassed and bolted.

She nodded and headed back to her camp.
