Coalpaw and Duskpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Owlfeather tail flicked in slight nervousness. She had been asked to hold a warrior ceremony for two apprentices because Spottedstar and the leader was unable to. She pushed her nervousness down as she called for the clan to gather"Let all cats old enough gather here"she mewed loud enough for evercat to herar.

Duskpaw raced out of the apprentice's den, fur glossy from his sister tireless efforts to keep it in some sort of order for the ceremony. He was excited to finally become a warrior of the Thunderclan, and earn his warrior name.

His sister, Coalpaw, stepped out calmly, unlike her brother. She strode up to where Duskpaw sat eagerly, she was just as excited but didn't overtly show it like her brother.

Owlfeather looked at Coalpaw and Duskpaw and smiled some before she mewed"Coalpaw, Duskpaw step forward"She mewed to the apprentices.

The pair approached Owlfeather, their excitable was almost palpable as they stood in front of her.

Owlfeather smiled some before she mewed"I, Owlfeather, Warrior of Thunderclan, call upon our warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand your noble code, and i commend them to you as warriors in their turn."Owlfeather mewed before she mewed"Coalpaw and Duskpaw do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend Thunderclan even at the cost of your life?"She mewed her gentle grey eyes looking at the apprentices as she spoke.

"I do." The pair spoke in unison, swearing a solemn vow before their clan, and Starclan.

"Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior names. Coalpaw from this moment on you will be known as Coalfur, Starclan honors your patience and strength. Duskpaw from this moment on you will be known as Duskfall, Starclan honors your loyalty and feirceness and we welcome both of you as warriors of Thunderclan."Owlfeather mewed.

Coalfur and Duskfall licked Owlfeather's shoulder in respect and thanks for the ceremony, before turning to face their clans cheers. They were now officially warriors of the Thunderclan, and they stood tall and proud.

When the cheers died down, they readied themselves with the knowledge they'd hold a silent vigil as warriors. It was a great honor, and so they turned to Owlfeather to receive the official command to hold the vigil.

Owlfeather smiled and mewed"you will now hold a silent vigil til dawn"She mewed looking to the pair. She didn't know why she was so nervous it wasn't as bad as she thought she'd do and it was quite great and fun holding the ceremony for the two apprentices.

The pair ducked their heads in respect to Owlfeather once, before turning to the middle of the clearing facing the tunnel to hold their vigil. They would stay up all night, watching over the clan as they slept. It was their duty, and they were honoured to do it.
