For Fal + Other kits of OtterxFrost

An agonized yowl came from the queens den, quickly sending the message that Frostclouds kit's were coming and they were coming NOW. another surge of hurtful shocks went through. Panting heavily, her body had already felt numb from the exhaustion, as if the kits were already delivered. Her blue eyes flickered with fear as she glanced around the queens den, seeing nobody in the den besides her. With deep breaths Frostcloud tried to keep calm, gritting her teeth as she felt more twisting pains in her stomach. "Otterfur, Sparrowpaw please help!!" Frostcloud cried out in fear.

Otterfur had just returned from patrol, setting his kill down in the pile before he'd heard his mate's cries from the other end of camp. "Oh, StarClan..." The tom muttered, rushing immediately across the clearing and disappearing into the nursery. "Frostcloud, are you alright!?" He asked, a slight tremor to his voice. Was she hurt? Did something happen? The kits? "It's alright." He muttered, lapping his tongue across her cheek, trying to comfort the she-cat.

"Move out the way, mousebrain!"

Sparrowpaw rushed out from the medicine den with a bundle of herbs already gathered in her mouth. She'd known that this day would eventually come, but now that it was happening, her heart felt like it was going to burst out of her chest. I won't mess up. I won't mess up. I won't mess up. She leaped and bowled her older nephew over in a headlong tackle, knocking him aside as she rushed to Frostcloud's side. Sparrowpaw dropped the bundle to the ground and set a gentle paw on the queen's stomach. "It'll be alright..." she assured her, panting. Probably. The she-cat bent down to pick up a leafy stalk in her mouth, which she roughly shoved into Frostcloud's open maw. "Chew this," Sparrowpaw snapped. "It's chervil. Helps with pain and contractions."

Her gaze flicked to Otterfur. "Go make yourself useful and find me a stick. There should be one in the medicine den, near the back. Make a mess in there and I'll scratch your eyes out."

She gave him a dismissive flick of her tail and turned back to Frostcloud. "Breathe deep and relax for now. It won't taste good, but swallow all the juice you get from those leaves."

Frostcloud let out a weak yet soft purr as Otterfur lapped across her face. Gently blinking at the warrior as he loomed over her. Otterfurs gentle voice seemed distant or extremely difficult to hear what exactly the tom was saying. The queen had felt that her head was throbbing painfully as she let out more yelps of pain. Her ears gently perked as she had heard more paw steps approaching, a bit relived to see Sparrowpaw rushing in. Slowly chewing up the herb or whatever it was that that Sparrowpaw had shoved in her mouth. Her blue eyes shutting from the pain, as she felt more twisted and sick feelings in her stomach.

Otterfur found it hard to tear his gaze away from the queen as she trembled, being a little thrown off when the medicine cat rushed in, throwing around order and practically shoving him out of the den - out for some stick. The tom's mind seemed to be static in that moment. A stick? What would she need a stick for? He shook his head, nudging his mate. "I'll be right back." He muttered to Frostcloud, rushing out of the den and across the clearing. Disappearing into Sparrowpaw's den, he stumbled around looking for what he needed. Stick. Stick. Who kept a stick in their den? StarClan!

Once he finally picked it out of the dark, he grabbed it between his jaws, carrying it back to them as quickly as he could.

"Right now it's just important for you to breathe," Sparrowpaw told her, trying to keep her voice calm despite the way her heart was fluttering in her chest. StarClan, if this was what kitting was like, she was glad she was a medicine cat. As Otterfur came rushing back, Sparrowpaw took a mouthful of jagged leaves and gave them to Frostcloud. "Raspberry leaves. It'll minimize the bleeding. Keep chewing. Keep breathing. The kits will be coming soon."

She didn't even bother to look at her nephew. "You just stand there and keep her calm. Keep that stick close."

With the instructions from Sparrowpaw Frostcloud quickly took some deep shaky breaths. Groaning loudly and gritting her teeth as more twisting and sick pains came from her insides. With a sudden and painful gasp bright red blood started pouring from frostclouds body rapidly. Her eyes stricken with fear as she noticed the blood, she yet out a wail of pain trembling from the pain.

OOC: Sorry for taking so long, but first I thought we were waiting for Ebs, and then I wasn't exactly sure what would happen in the timeskip, so here I go. @_@

IC: She felt like she was working in a trance. Everything moved in a blur, and her head was starting to throb. The kits were at Frostcloud's stomach, trying to nurse, but she was laying there barely clinging to life. Sparrowpaw felt herself snapping orders at anyone, everyone, but they were all useless. She barked at them until her voice was strained and she felt tears stinging her eyes, but they hardly even moved. Useless. You're all useless.

She needed moss. Marigold. Horsetail. Burnet most of all, and some chamomile for herself before she collapsed on the spot. She needed help, but no one would help her.

Sparrowpaw dipped her head down to take the stick out of Frostcloud's mouth, jerking her head to throw it halfway across camp. Stick, to help with the pain and give her something to bite down on. The labor was over now, and that should've been it, but something was wrong. What could she do? What was she supposed to do...? There were five. Five kits. She stomped her paw on the ground, her teeth bare. Ebonyleaf... help me...

What kind of medicine cat was she if she couldn't save one life...?
