Quailkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Leaping onto the rock Thrushstar looked around at the rather empty camp. Letting out a heavy sigh, he called for the clan. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

A kit slipped from the nursery, her ears perking at the sound of the meeting and she happily bolted beneath the jaggedrock to see what exactly would happen.

"We gather tonight to make this kit an apprentice," Thrushstar called loudly, looking down at Qualkit. It was a special night for her, that was for sure, and he was glad to see that there were more kits that were quickly growing older and stronger every day even in this harsh leaf bare. "Quailkit, from today until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Quailpaw. Your mentor shall be Fennelcloud. May she teach you everything she knows." Once he was finished, he leaped off of the rock for the clan to finish the ceremony.

Fennelcloud, who was totally there the whole time, looked up at Thrushstar in surprise. This was her first apprentice. How was she supposed to handle this? She wasn't taught how to teach. Squirrelnose never said anything about this. Keeping her cool and her head held high, she walked over to Quailpaw. "I will do my best to teach you everything that my mentor taught me." she mewed, touching noses with her.
