Willowpaw's Warrior Ceremony

As a slight breeze ruffled throughout the camp, the large golden leader leap atop the Willow Branch. He gazed out across the camp then called out loudly, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a Clan meeting!"

Willowpaw leapt out of the apprentice den with wild abandon as she heard Sunstar call a clan meeting. Her mentor had recently hinted that she was close to becoming a warrior and she hoped that this was her ceremony. Once she reached the clearing below the great willow Willowpaw calmed herself and sat, looking up at her leader.

Once he saw the apprentice step out of her den, he called out, "Willowpaw please step forward!"

Willowpaw padded up closer to Sunstar and looked up at him happily.
(Is she supposed to go on the branch or stand below???)

Once the she-cat stepped forward, Sunstar lifted his head a bit so his words would travel a bit farther. "I, Sunstar, leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn." He paused to look down at the apprentice, then asked the question, "Willowpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

A sudden serious determination overtook Willowpaw's demeanor. Though she usually acted quite decisive and was often known for making bold decisions Willowpaw's eyes almost always held the hint of a playful smile but even that disappeared as she gazed into her leaders eyes. "I do."

After hearing the apprentices words, Sunfur nodded with his large golden head before speaking to name the she-cat, "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Willowpaw, from this moment you will be known as Willowsong. We welcome you as a full warrior of RiverClan."

Streamheart, (this ceremony happened before her death) sat near the front, where her former apprentice had stood when she had become Willowpaw. "Willowsong! Willowsong!" She cheered.

Willowsong beams and runs over to Streamheart. "Thank you so much. You were the best mento I could have ever asked for!

"And you are the best apprentice I could've ever gotten." She replied. "You will make a great warrior."
