Running With the Thunder

Gingerkit ran through the camp like someone was chasing her. She doesn't look in front of her and she bumped into a cat. "Oh, sorry!"

"And what would you be doing, little warrior?" Sunface looked down at the kit that bumped into her with a kind smile. "Something fun I hope?"

"Err... I was just running, yeah running!" Gingerkit was too embarrassed to tell the warrior that she was daydreaming and running at the same time. "What's your name?"

She cocked her head to the side, humor glinting in her eyes. "Just running? Back in my day, kits did something useful with their paws!" Sunface gave a short laugh and gently nosed the kit's ear. "I'm named Sunface. What do they call you?"

Gingerkit sat in front of Sunface. "My name is Gingerkit! Nice to meet you, Sunface." She smiled and flicked her tail.

"A fine name you have, Gingerkit. You're a rather lively kit, I'll bet you'll make a good apprentice soon. Do you know how many moons you are?" Sunface also sat down, her tail curling around her paws. It was nice to slow down and have a lovely conversation from time to time.

Gingerkit looked up at the warrior. "Thank you, your name is nice too." When the warrior asked for her age, she began to think. "I'm about three and a half moons old."
