Palekit, Dimkit, Dustykit, and Willowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Though it was a little painful, Dewstar clawed her way up the Highrock. She called the usual call and waited for four kits--quite a bit at once--to approach so they could begin their warrior training.

With a squeak of shock, Dustykit practically tumbled over the lip of the nursery, landing flat on his belly - all because he was in such a rush to answer the heed of the clan leader. These meetings were the only time that all the clan got together - including the kits, and he wasn't going to miss it this time.

"Ouff." He grumbled, stumbling to his paws as quickly as possible and giving his head a shake. "Come on, guys! Clan meetin'!" Everycat should be as excited as he was. It wasn't every day that Dewstar called them all together.

Willowkit perked her ears when she heard what Dustykit had said. I wonder what it's about, she said to herself mentally. She quickly padded out of the nursery, excited to see what was happening.

She looked up and saw the leader looking around as if searching for someone. Then Dewstar's gaze stopped on her for a split second. Willowkit's eyes suddenly drooped. Oh no, she thought panically, Did I do something wrong? Willowkit tried to ignore the feelings that were rushing in her all at a moment. Wearily, she headed up towards where everyone was sitting.

Dimkit peaked out of the nursery frowning 'Why is everyone so happy..?' He muttered under his breath knowing Dewstar was injured from a big battle. he grew more worried when he saw his injured clanmates as well. sighing Dimkit slowly left the nursery padding towards the highrock. He swerved around his clanmates sitting down patiently waiting.

Willowkit looked around, wondering when the meeting was starting. "I wonder who we're waiting for," she said out loud. That light brown she kit wasn't happy what the meeting could be about, yet she was still curious. Willowkit sighed and then started to groom herself. I better look good, just in case.

Coalheart drug a squirrel off of the fresh kill pile and took a mouthful. Mm, wonderful squirrel! Suddenly, after a minute or two, the warrior heard a familliar call. She looked up at Dewstar and trotted over to the rest of her Clanmates.

Dapplepaw looked around for her mentor. Spotting Coalheart by the fresh kill pile, she padded up and sat down next to her. "Hey, Coalheart!" she meowed. 'What are we going to do toda-" she was interrupted by Dewstar calling a Clan meeting. Dapplepaw trotted after Coalheart and sat down around some apprentices.

Dustykit didn't seem particularly bothered by the fact that his fur tended to stick up every which way. In fact, he had come to realize it was a losing battle - and there was many more interesting things to worry about than grooming habits. But clearly, he was one of the few kits who thought that. A lot of them, he noticed, probably wanted to look their best, in case it was their big day.

Like Willowkit, for instance. But it was rather hard to groom oneself. Spotting the familiar cat, he padded over to her. " Need help?" He asked, offering her one of his fluffy paws to her. "If you're trying ta look good for the meetin..."

Right when Willowkit finished grooming she heard a familiar voice. "Need any help?" the cat offered. She looked up and saw Dustykit holding out his paw to her. "Oh no thanks, I just finished," she said politely. She looked at him and saw his messy pelt. "But it looks like you need some," she said chuckling. He quickly swiped a paw over his fur, trying to flatten it. She watched as it stuck back up. Willowkit tried this again, and it still stuck up. This is some tough fur...

Coalheart turned around and saw the kits trying to groom each other with their paws. She laughed. "Here, Dustykit." she meowed. "Let me help." The gray cat padded over to him and quickly groomed some of the fur that was still sticking up. She'd managed to get most of it down, at least. Coalheart stood up and smiled. She turned around and trotted back to Dapplepaw.

"No - I'm okay, I - " Before he was able to stop Willowkit from trying to help, she patted him on the head. "See, it's kinda useless. I don't mind. Makes me look 'riginal." He purred, feeling rather confident in himself. He was a true wild cat - just look at his fur!

But Willowkit wasn't the only one apparently interest in trying to help him look more presentable. This time though, it was a warrior who approached him - Coalheart. Before he even knew what was happening, he squeaked in distress as her rough tongue came down between his ears. "Ack! Nooo...." He mewed piteously, but found there wasn't much he could do to try and wriggle away.

It didn't quite work - but he was looking decisively flatter than he did before. Not that he was all that grateful. "Ick." He grumbled, shaking his head in an effort to protest against the sudden bath. Suppose he was going to look presentable whether he wanted to or not...

Ooc: Where's Palekit ??? If she/he doesn't come, are we starting without her/him.? 

Willowkit chuckled when Coalheart gave Dustykit a bath. Once Coalheart was done, she looked at Dustykit. "Well... You look ok I suppose," she said half smiling to him. "I hope we got groomed well for a reason," the light brown kit said to to tom. She looked up at the leader, wondering when the gathering would start.

Coalheart smiled and settled into her spot beside the two kits. "I bet you're going to become apprentices." she purred to Willowkit and Dustykit.

Willowkit perked her ears and smiled when she heard what Coalheart said. "Do you really think so?" she said asking. Willowkit was half relieved knowing that she wasn't actually in trouble, but she was mostly excited. She would finally be made an apprentice!!! It's a good thing Dustykit and I got groomed, she said to herself.

Coalheart nodded. "Are you excited?" she asked, knowing what the answer was.

Willowkit nodded eagerly. She had been waiting for this day ever since she could talk, well, right after being announced a warrior of course! The tabby kit checked her pelt again, just in case she had missed something. Her gaze stopped when she saw a leaf on her flank. She easily swiped it off with her tail.

Willowkit looked over at Dustykit, who didn't look too surprised about being made an apprentice. "Did you know?" she asked, her voice smooth as stone. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously at him, in a kind of playful gesture.
