Mookit lay in the den her paws tucked tightly beneath her chest. The den was dark and warm and she was in the nest in the way back. She opened her eyes barely her orbs glancing ever so slightly around the den. She did this every day and she even had a name for it. She called it peekering. It was fun when you were playing withother kits but less by yourself. She was sleepy and bored and had already napped thru half the day. As sye swiped her warm pink tongue around her muzzle wetting her milk stained mouth. It was oddly enough her mother had not returned with milk to feed her and comfort her and made Moonkit a little angry. Finally she could not take it anymore and unfolded her sore wobbly legs as and began staggering outside. She was curious and knew already it was not allowed. But when she came out there were tufts of fur and cats fighting. Her eyes were horrified yet she did not know what to do. She already thoughtshe heard yowls and mews from the den but she did not put much thought into it. She hight tailed herself back into the den her little heartbeating fast. "What do I do?!" she thought.

Moonkit was in panic mode as she scrambled over ferns and sleeping kits. There were no mothers there to keep there kits safe but she did not notice. As she layed down hoping it was a dream a tattered figure slipped into the den. It was a shaggy white pelt. Moonkit hardly relized it was her mother and began letting out a rusty hiss. Cloudfur nuzzled Moonkit before speaking her soft voice comforting Moonkit "It is ok its me Moonkit and I have a important mission for you. Get yourself in the back of the den and hide under the old moss. Its stinky and will cover your scent and last do not make a sound!" Moonkit stared dumbfounded at her mother before asking "Why and what is going on?" Her mew scared and high pitched. It did not take long for cloudfur to answer "Well it is nothing.. you need to know about. And because I told you so" she hissed before giving her a brisk lick "I love you.." she said sadly before leaping out yowling. Moonkit shoved herself under the moss still mad at her mom for not telling the truth. Yet Moonkit would soon find out what would have happened if she didnt hide.
