Shallowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"All cats old enough to swim gather to hear my words!" Reedstar called from the center of camp, summoning the Clan for yet another apprentice ceremony. New able paws were always needed, especially in such dangerous times.

Shallowit trotted out of the nursery, pelt groomed till it shined. His apprentice cerimony! Shallowkit couldn't wait.

With a nod, Reedstar launched into the ceremony. "Shallowkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Shallowpaw. Your mentor will be Stormclaw. I hope they will pass down all they know on to you."

Shallowpaw dipped his head and puffed his chest out proudly.

Shimmerpaw had been watching from a distance. Now, she was up and padding over to Shallowkit Shallowpaw. "Hey! Looks like were den mates again!" She said happily. Shallowpaw had been her only friend as kits, and she admired him very much.

"Yeah!" Shallowpaw meowed. He looked over at Stormclaw, and back at his best friend and denmate. "Well, I'd better go.. See you in a bit!" he told her. The tom didn't want to leave Shimmerpaw, but he'd see her in a while.

Shimmerpaw nodded understandingly. "Yah, see you later!"

Shallowpaw looked over at his best friend sadly. "I guess....bye..."
