Surprise! ( Playing in the nursery)

Deerkit stretched out her sleepy joints as the sun shone through the walls of the nursery. She took a few moments to smooth down bits of fur on her back before padding over to the corner where hey had left all the 'toys' the day before. She flexed her claws before taking a tiny ball of what seemed to be just random things and hit it to the other side of the nursery, chasing after it quietly.

Curled up in a tight little ball, Asterkit was happily dreaming away. She imagined she was running across the windswept glen, a giant, wonderfully powerful warrior. Rabbits, puny little rabbits, ran as fast as the could from her paws. But they couldn't escaped, because she was the mighty -

"Mrmph!" Asterkit felt something smack her firmly into her back, waking her instantly from her wonderful dream. Untucking herself, she sat right up, looking around for the culprit. "Deerkit, whassat for!" She yelped. "No fair, I was sleepin'!"

"Sorry.." she ducked down and grabbed the ball "Why don't you come play with me? I'm bored .." she whined

Not used to staying grumpy for too long, Asterkit positively perked up at the mention of the word 'play'. "Well why didn't ya just say so?" She mrowed, stretching out her front paws in a luxurious way. "Of course I'll come play! Ya didn't have to bonk me to come and do that." Sure, she'd been asleep - but really, what would she rather do - play or sleep? It was a no brainer.

"Passer here!" She added in mid-yawn as she finally clambered to her paws. She didn't even know what her sister was playing yet - but it was sure to be a good game.

The smaller kitten purred happily and nosed the ball for a few momenrs before batting it over to her sibling with the flick of a paw

Asterkit was almost totally awake by now, and beginning to feel jittery with excitement. Deerkit, of course, took her sweet time trying to pass the ball to her end of the nest, and Asterkit tried not to huff about it, shifting impatiently from paw to paw until finally, finally the ball came soaring towards her end.

"I got it, I got it!" She screeched, jumping to try and catch the ball mid air. She missed it with both front paws, but bounced off the tip of her nose and she snagged it with an open mouth before it could bounce between her ears and over her back. She landed on her stomache, but didn't seem too put out by the graceless landing.

"Hgawthiff!" She mumbled, her celebration impeded by a mouthful of ball. She gave her head a good shake, worrying the toy in her jaws as if she were trying to finish off a particularly feisty rabbit.

She smiled over and crouched at her end, waiting for the other "Good catch!" She replied, licking her paw before cleaning the tip of her ear

Spitting out the ball with a great huff of air, Asterkit purred, swiping a tiny paw behind her ear in a gesture of false modesty. "Aw...it was nothing." For the greatest cat in Windclan ever, she thought privately to herself. She didn't tell her sister that, though. Boasting wasn't exactly nice.

Even if it was probably true.

"Come on! I'll toss it to you now! I bet you can catch it!" She encouraged, worrying the ball between her front paws. "Go back a bit. Make it more challenging!"

Her ears flicked and she looked behind herself, taking a few steps nacj before stopping "Ready!" She called

Batting the ball back and forth between her front paws, Asterkit prepared to toss it towards her sister, waiting until she made it just a tad more difficult for herself and stepped way, way back. "Alright, here it comes!" She mewed and finally, swinging her paw high overhead, batted the ball out towards Deerkit, letting it bounce on the ground once before it arched towards the right.

"Get it get it!" She crowed encouragingly, practically bouncing on the spot, fur fluffed in excitement and preparedness of the game. Oh, this was much better than sleeping!

She shifted to run after the ball,leaning up on her back paws to catch it in her mouth,placing it on the ground and smiling "I got it!" And batted it back

"Told you you would!" Asterkit cheered for her sister. Really, there was no doubt about their future in the clan; they were going to be some of the awesomist warriors ever! Was 'awesomist' a word? She didn't know, nor did she really seem to care. Maybe they were so amazing that they'd have to make that word up just to describe them.

"That was an amazin' save!" Asterkit cheered. "Betcha I could do you one better though. Give it a toss." Asterkit wriggled back a bit, squinting her eyes so that she could barely see where she was going. "I'm gonna catch it without even lookin' at it!"

She batted the ball back with a smirk,watching the other she cat with a doubting feeling

Heatherkit yawned and woke up. Right after she opened her cyan eyes, she felt a ball of moss bounce off of her. "Hey! What was that for?!" the golden and ginger she-kit growled good-naturedly. Shaking her pelt free of any loose moss and heather, she added, "And can I play too please?"

Asterkit was prepared to catch the ball - she really was. She just hadn't been prepared for how hard it would be with her eyes screwed shut. She flicked her ears forward, trying to hear the ball whistling through the air, but instead heard it bounce off the ground, several tail lengths to her right.

And, apparently, off someone's head.

"Er...Sorry Heatherkit." She mewed appologetically. Funny, lots of people seemed to be getting booped in the head this morning. "But sure you can play. The more the merrier!" Heatherkit, after all, was sort of like their other sister. She liked the little kit.
