first day out

as firekit scampered out of the nursery he thought, 'where should i explore first' so he chose the den under the big rock and thought that would be a fun place to explore so he went in the first thing he saw was a nice nest in the way back of the den, and he was geting tired so he layed down in the nest for a nap.

Dewstar, tired from the early morning patrol, entered camp with the cats she'd led and headed for her nest. She ignored the fresh-kill pile as she was not particularly hungry and nosed past the hanging lichen, ready for a long, relaxing nap. She needed to rest her bones before inevitably leaving for the dusk patrol, and even though it was many hours away, she knew it would feel like moments before it came. The unmistakable scent of another cat tinged with the scent of milk alerted her to the intruder in her nest. Dewstar's ears flattened and she let out a growl, saying, "Don't the queens pay attention to their responsibilities anymore? You don't belong here, kit. Leave." The gray leader was in no mood to play around and though she normally would have been kinder to kits, she felt very snappish and wasn't afraid to be harsh to her Clanmates. "You can sleep in this nest when you've earned it."

'but my my mother is out hunting and i got scared by something, I thought you would protect me'. fire kit mewed scared she was mad.

"Oh, really? Because it looked to me like you were about to take a nap in my nest." She growled irritably. Dewstar rolled her eyes and leaned down to pick the young tom up by the scruff gently. She carried the kit back outside and set him down, fixing him with a stern look. "Don't go wandering where you don't belong."

IC- A single, dark brown eye opened within the elder's den. Shivering slightly, a grey she-cat stood from her lone nest. Stretching until a satisfactory pop sounded from her back, Rainspot padded out. Noticing a disgruntled leader carrying a kit out of the Highrock, she purred in amusement. Trotting towards the pair, she forced back a chuckle. "I'll put him in his place for you, Dewstar." She winked at the much younger tom. Picking him up by the scruff, a little ways away she put him down. "Don't mind her, she's always been a bit grumpy.", she meowed with a laugh.
