May the Kits not be Seen

Perhaps a few days perhaps, but it didn't take too long to have this happen. For now, she just had to keep them like this. Just had to. When they are of age, may they go their separate ways and not remember this. They just can't. The idea would've been quite crestfallen for a different cat, but, Ravenwing? No way. She didn't feel pain in dividing her kits into different clans. Call her heartless, but, the WindClan medicine cat did not really know what to do with kits. While she could mend wounds and sometimes save someone almost enveloped away in the midst of death, loving kin was not possible. Yes, she did care for these five kits that she call her's. Could she be proud of them? Not quite. Kits with four different parts of blood in them. If another found out, they wouldn't be the most pleased, now would they? Resting her head on her paws, her green and yellow eyes gazed as the five kits slept, stirring as she felt they were to open their eyes. Keeping a steady watch at the forgotten camp's entrance and the nursery opening for five other cats - two RiverClan, two WindClan - to make their way in, the black she-cat knew that all involved were risking themselves for her, and Ashcloud's sake.

Lavenderheart had always been a gentle and kind mother, one any cat would ask for. She accepted all new kits, and whether they were her own or not, she treated them all with delicate care. Any cat would think that she nursed all of them on her own - which was slightly true considering all of the kits' mothers had mysteriously vanished somewhere. Ravenwing, though she knew these kits were coming, she never truly knew it was to be. She didn't know how to be a mother, her mind was set to complete her tasks as a medicine cat. She knew that meeting Ashcloud was a consequence, but this? Not quite. Who would've known this was to happen.

Sitting on the forgotten moss that her own grandmother made, how ancient yet soft and comfortable it was, the soft aroma of milk came. It wasn't her own milk, that was for sure.

Looking around, the kits had just made her wonder - whatever was she doing? What a mistake she had made, giving birth to them. They would be constantly reminding her that she was wrong about everything, how her life wasn't in the right path. It wasn't that she didn't have any instincts to love them, but... how could she when they were just too difficult to see through what all knew was wrong for a medicine cat? Moreover, it was more forbidden than it could get. A medicine cat loving a warrior from another clan. How she came to have these feelings, she did not know. But... it was too late to go back. Oh, how she had hoped this would end well.

One kit was a handsome ginger tom with stunning light blue eyes that always seemed to show a determination and knack for fighting yet a kind merciful cat who knows when to stop. Always loving towards his siblings. This particular kit earned the name Lionkit. His brother, was light hearted, kind, and silly at times. He knew how to goof around and let loose to have some fun, being the most mischievous in the bunch. Long haired with a white pelt and black paws, he was named Fuzzykit. To their sister was a gray she-cat with striking green eyes that reflected the color of the forest in Greenleaf, she was quite air-headed and always seen staring off. Surprisingly, she could keep focus when it came to tracking down a scent trail or trying to sneak attack one of her siblings. Although it's a constant reminder to Ravenwing, the kit was named Pebblekit for the pebbles that were found on the river. A young silver tabby, the darkest of green eyes. So energetic and had made use of WindClan, SkyClan, and RiverClan blood with her speed and strong legs, this she-kit was Silverkit. Finally, a kit with a soft almost feathery white pelt, a completely black and fluffy tail, adorned with black tipped ears and paws. Aqua eyes with a hint of green, they always seemed to show disinterest and the kit was always so serious. For her appearance to the birds called the kite, she was Kitekit.

Watching the entrance once more, Ravenwing knew that they should be coming soon, but when was the matter. It had to be discussed there, and now.

Her tail wrapped around her paws in the nursery, Kitekit watched her siblings doing whatever they were doing. How boring they were! There was nothing fun about what they were playing, and honestly, there wasn't much to do. She had memorized every scrap of the nursery from every claw mark on the walls to the strands of moss on their nests. What else were they to do? Her fur moved by the gentle breeze, her fluffy pelt gave such a feathery impression, she could be considered a cat with wings if it blew hard enough.

"Humph. I don't have any luck in this. I just have to keep an eye on everything around here so everything works fine. How annoying."

Hawkflight padded to the forgotten camp in which her ancestors once lie, Ravenwing wanting her to meet her. But for what? She had no clue and just decided it was important, and she would do anything for her sister. She smelled the scent of milk, and froze. Was there another cat here? That couldn't be her sister, could it? Hawkflight stalked toward the scent, hearing the squeak of a kit. Noting the smell, it still smelled like her sister, but, how? Poking her head in, she noticed Ravenwing, and kits. They were adorable, but how did they get here? Looking into her sisters dual colored eyes, she found the answer. These were her kits, which being a medicine cat, she wasn't allowed. She padded closer to her sister, purring and mewing to her "Oh Ravenwing, what do you want me to do?"

"So, this way, right Ashcloud?"
Stormheart followed behind her good friend, Ashcloud(you know whenever Night posts x3), glancing around at the territory curiously. She had never seen the old Skyclan territory, now owned by Windclan. Back at camp, the whole ordeal had been explained to her in private. She didn't necessarily approve of Ashcloud's choice of a mate...In fact it had kinda annoyed her that there was a she-cat who had loved him very much in their own clan, yet he went with a Windclan cat instead; a medicine cat at that! Though, she wasn't going to be his mother and she really didn't mind...She knew Hailwhisper would've supported him either way. Besides, love did crazy things to you; even if Stormheart herself had never come to love a tom, ever. At least not yet, anyways. She didn't understand all that much and that left no room to judge. Anyways, she had decided to help Ashcloud, being that he was a childhood friend and she felt like she was kind of making up for time she could have spent helping Hailwhisper when she was alive. Her sister would have done anything for Ashcloud, even if she could only be his friend.

Though, Stormheart's role in this would be a little...Iffy. She was determined to help them pull it off, though. No matter what consequences may occur. She may be risking the respect other cats had for her by doing this, but she didn't care; not when she was sure she was doing the right thing.

Ashcloud led his childhood friend towards the forgotten area, where they all had agreed to gather. The white tom hadn't yet been able to meet his new Kin, and was secretly excited to see them. Oh, what would they look like? "Yes." The warrior had entrusted Stormheart to care for these new additions to the world; he often thought of them as siblings after all. Her sister, however, he knew that she had loved him. The Riverclan tom wasn't so stupid as to not notice her feelings, and he knew it would have broken her heart; or has, she was probably watching from Starclan now.
Following the scent of milk, he found Ravenwing in a den of what he assumed was once the nursery. Four tiny kits, his kits, could be seen. Giving a small, sweet smile, he licked the top of a rather fluffy kit's head.

Pebblekit watched in a daze as more cats came into view, and she brought in their scents. Two smelled somewhat dusty, both she-cats. Another pair smelled like water, but fresher, not the stagnant puddle way. One was a tom, another a she-cat. The white male reminded her of her own siblings, which gave her a vague feeling they could be related. The grey kit mewed softly, "Why do you look at everything and worry?"

Silverkit looked at her reflection in the stream. She poked a paw at her reflection but moved back quickly as the water felt like ice.

OOC;; As Cin is not posting, I might as well continue this topic without her...

IC;; While Ravenwing did indeed expect them to come in subtly, or at least she had assumed, they didn't have to all come in at once. Now, it might be a bit more difficult to explain a few things especially when there are a few rivalries up and about. Not necessarily as WindClan and RiverClan were currently allies, but, nonetheless, it was going to be a long story. Giving a nod to the three cats who had entered, the black medicine cat stood up from where she was, keeping herself away from any kits she may not have noticed haven't woken up yet before fully adjusting herself to the area. Taking a quick glance at Silverkit and then towards Kitekit and Pebblekit, the she-cat inwardly let out an inaudible sigh before beckoning to each kit as she said their names, "Silverkit...Kitekit....Pebblekit...Lionkit....Fuzzykit..."

She really didn't know much to say afterwards due to the fact that while she had planned it out, she didn't necessarily want to explain it. Turning her heterochromic gaze towards Ashcloud, Ravenwing silently willed for him to take over with this somehow. Call her a coward, but it still bothered her how she managed to break two codes and get away with it... Somehow. "Hawk....flight..." There was one reason she had asked her sister - the fact that she would aid her through just about anything as family. These kits were all their family, whether through blood or adoption, they were to be brought together in denying the code at once. That one little thought made her realize that this mistake could end all of their clan lives if they're caught. They cannot afford to make the wrong move. It would be too risky.

Staring at the parsley she had brought to bring down her own milk and the borage she brought just in case Stormheart didn't have any yet, Ravenwing quietly looked over to all three of them and knew that this was just too complicated of a situation to comprehend in just mere words.

Kitekit, narrowing her eyes at Pebblekit, the she-kit replied, "Hmph, like you'd care about why." As soon as she finished speaking, a larger tom approached her and licked the top of her head. The unfamiliar scent made her instincts rise and her fur start bristling from the strange overwhelming sensation. It smelled awfully fishy for some reason and she utterly disgusted it. Turning to face her adversary, the tom in mind was quite... handsome? And looked a bit like her. It only took her a few moments to realize who she was facing. Her own father. Turning away again, unwilling to show her embarrassment from the little "scene" that just took place, she saw Silverkit standing away from everyone else.

That's particularly what she would be doing if not the fact that her current position allowed her to multi-task and see every little detail. It was only when Silverkit decided to use the stream and place her paws in it was when the black and white she-cat decided to move. "Watch your paws!" Kitekit called out with a harsh and warning tone. It was a bit too late by the time the warning reached her sister, but at least she shouldn't be able to do it again. "The temperature's too bitter for you, don't place your claws where they don't belong!" Walking back to her position before, tail lashing furiously, Kitekit let out another "humph" before turning away.

Stormheart couldn't help but giggle slightly at the kits, then quickly quieted and dipped her head in greeting to the others. Her gaze caught sight of the borage and remembered that the kits would probably still need milk at this age. If she had brought the herbs for her and perhaps the other she-cat who had shown up, it'd help a lot in her case. Dear Starclan, she was getting into something there was no backing out of. However, when she remembered her deceased sister, she calmed down fast and reminded herself that things would be okay. She'd accept the task of keeping this secret - despite it breaking not one, but two codes - and if she got in trouble for helping her childhood friend, then she wouldn't regret it. This was her decision, and she'd take the punishment for it without fear or regret if it came to getting found out somehow...Hopefully it wouldn't. After all, these kits didn't deserve to live life in shame; they had done nothing wrong.

Seeing as things were becoming quiet, Stormheart politely sat down, as to not intimidate the kits as much if they saw her. She remembered how Hailwhisper used to love playing with the kits, and if they got scared by her more matured size, she would lie down and speak softly to them. Man, her sister had known a lot more about kits than this tabby(referring to herself x3) did. Hopefully things wouldn't be too bad.
"Hello." Stormheart greeted the others in a friendly but quiet tone, not wanting to be too loud and cause someone to hear them.

The grey kit shrugged and brushed it off, she knew Kitekit meant no harm. Nearly giggling at her sister's reaction, she watched the older tom, who was about to speak. The small form of Pebblekit looked up to her mother when her own name was called, and trotted towards her. Sitting down, she gave a soft, innocent purr. It was obvious she had no idea what was going to happen, nor would she remember any of this later in life.

The white warrior nodded and glanced at each she-cat. Noticing one of his daughters squeaking something to her sibling, he could see a little someone trying to hide their care for their kin. "Stormheart, Hawkflight. I know,", he quickly looked at Ravenwing, and continued,"We know this is a sudden and heavy burden, but there is not much of a choice. We need for you to care for them," He motioned to the quintuplet group around them, and the pair of green eyes softened at their somewhat adorable clumsiness and smallness. "Which we are unable to do together, ourselves." Ashcloud's attentions turned to Stormheart, his look changing to the questioning type. "I know you said you would help, but are you having second thoughts? This is a lifetime commitment, and it will not stop until we either die or are found out."

Hawkflight nodded absently, slowing thinking back to when her and Ravenwing were kits and apprentices. She had always been distant and quiet, she just wondered how a cat, this Riverclan tom, got to her heart? But, that didn't matter, it was that this was what was happening, and it had to be dealt with. Crouching down next to Stormheart, she quickly purred to the kits "Its nice to meet you young ones, you are all adorable" she mewed, he mother nature coming out. She her had two liters of kits, and it wouldn't be a surprise to take on another. With the loss of her mate Owlpelt just recent, she could just say she had been pregnant the whole time. It would be easy for her. "Yes Ravenwing, and Ashcloud. I will take some of them, I don't mind. Plus, they are my kin, I can't just leave them for whatever other fate they could have. I will take on this secret and responsibility. Also, Stormheart. If you even need motherly advice, I can certainly help if you would ask." she mewed. She just had to get that out, she didn't want this young she-cat, who didn't seem to have experience with kits, to not know what to do in certain situations. Hawkflight looked back up to her sister with loving eyes, letting her know she is there.

Stormheart listened carefully, then paused. Second thoughts? She had never been so sure of something in her life! "Of course I'll do it. You're one of my best friends." She agreed quickly, as if it was ridiculous to think that she would decline. She looked at the kits and purred quietly. They were adorable, and an excuse as to why she had them...They could figure that out later. Maybe she could just say she found the kits? If they smelled slightly of Windclan still, then it would make sense. Perhaps she would do that; she'd have to talk to Ashcloud about it on the way back.
The silver tabby looked up at Ravenwing and dipped her head respectfully. "I won't let any harm come to them for as long as they're under my watch." She promised, then perked her ears as she realized Hawkflight had begun speaking to her. Her eyes widened and she sat up. Sure, it was true that she didn't know a lot about kits, but she knew how to protect them and care of them...Okay not so much that second part but she'd figure it out. Plus, she had seen Hailwhisper with kits many times in the past and as long as she remembered some of those little details, she could probably figure it out. Not to mention she didn't want to admit to not knowing what to do in front of the kits' mother and scare her.

"I think I'll manage, but thank you. My sister used to help care for the kits a lot in Riverclan." Stormheart purred, and glanced back at the kits. She suddenly wondered which ones she would be caring for in the first place.
