In the Nursery

In RiverClan's nursery, a fluffy white kit stretched slightly. She had been curled up besides her best, and probably only, friend, Leopardkit. The sun was breaching the horizon, but despite the warm, faint glow, everything felt cold still. She nuzzled her face into Leopardkit's side, huffing softly into his fur. Ugh, it was so cold...
"Leopardkit.."
She quietly whined after a while, looking up.
"Leopardkit, it's cold.."

Leopardkit stirred, stretching his long limbs and looking down at the smaller kit next to him. Even though she was the same age as him, she was much smaller. Tinier to him. His dark brown nose nudged the top of her head lightly. "I'm right here, Lilykit." he purred.

"I know." The small white kit murmured, looking up towards him. "But it's still chilly." She added, yawning quietly, her bushy tail swishing back and forth.

Leopardkit curled closer to the smaller cat. "Yeah, I know. It is very chilly, I'll admit." Leopardkit shivered slightly as a cold breeze hit his skin through his pelt.

"You're warm, though." the kitten purred, snuggling close to her littermate. "And you're soft, too." she added, fluffing her fur up against the cold.

Leopardkit purred louder, pushing his back paw out in a stretch. "Well you're like a fluffy cloud! So you don't got much to say about that!" he teased lightly.
