Nightkit, Adderkit, and Flamekit's Apprentice Ceremonies

Dewstar mounted the large rock for the bajillionth time. Today, however, was important. Her deputy's kits were ready to become apprentices, and if anyone asked, she loved Spottedfeather's kits more than the rest. She couldn't help it- they were just cuter than all the rest; they were stronger, too, and came from a line of intelligent cats with claws to back up their smarts. They were destined to be important, and she certainly wanted to train one. There was one difficulty, though- which one did she want?

She was lost in her thoughts, but quickly snapped out of it and yowled loudly to summon her Clan.

Spottedfeather exited the nursery, probably her last time in doing so. Today was her kits apprentice ceremony. No matter how much she would miss sleeping with them, she could still watch them grow and flourish within the camp, and clan life. She smiled before gathering all her kits together. She quickly started to clean their fur, barely keeping hold of them as they struggled, finally, she let them go, letting them start to clean themselves. She purred, they were growing up so fast. So far, Rookpaw, no Tigerpaw, had come to see them. She hoped her adopted kits would approve of her kits. "Come on, lets go." she mewed to Nightkit, Flamekit, and Adderkit.

Nightkit desperately escaped the grasp of his mother ferociously cleaning him. "I can do it!" he complained, before quickly cleaning himself. He put his head and tail high as he padded to the Highrock. He looked around camp, he was going to be a great warrior, better than anyone else! Plus, he had great looks, if he did say so himself. Mostly, if dual-colored eyes. His right eye being a deep, redish amber, while his left was a stunning ice blue.

Flamekit squirmed the whole time as his mother tried to clean him. "Mom~ you're messing it up," he mewed, breaking away and re-cleaning his fur in the way he wanted it done. After he finished with himself, he trotted up to Nightkit and together they went towards Highrock, heads and tails high.

Meanwhile, Spottedflight had just woken up after the midnight patrol. She padded up to Highrock, giving room for the kits and their mother to sit down. Thankfully, Spottedfeather would resume her Deputy position with the apprenticing of her kits. It was just less to worry about for Spottedflight, and she liked that. Looking at the kits, she couldn't help but smile. She wanted one as an apprentice.

Lastly, there was Adderkit. He was pulling away as soon as Spottedfeather attempted to clean him with the first lick of her tongue. Of course to no avail, since a kit stands no chance in defiance against his mother at such age. Just be obedient and role with it. So he tumbled outside as soon as she let them go, dusting up his pelt even more. With a mischievous glint in his eyes, he padded up, chest puffed out and chin high with satisfaction. He didn't really have any reason for doing that. It was just fun, and he was cool. He was so cool; it was so obvious. Coolest kit around. Yup.

Dewstar would have called them forward as usual, but they had already stepped up. "You three have each reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. Nightkit, Adderkit, and Flamekit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Nightpaw, Adderpaw, and Flamepaw." She paused. Every time she said Adderpaw's name, visions of her deceased mate came to her mind. She shoved the thoughts from her mind and continued. "Nightpaw, I will mentor you. Adderpaw, Spottedflight will mentor you. I trust she will pass on her skills to you. Flamepaw, Rainspot will be your mentor. Though she is young, I'm sure she will train you well." Dewstar jumped from the rock, landing in front of Nightpaw. She bent down to touch noses with him and gave him a faint smile. There were a lot of advantages to be leader, including choosing who you wanted to train.

Nightpaw touched noses with his leader. Thought why did he not feel right when she mentioned him becoming a warrior? Of course he was going to be a warrior! The best warrior there was going to be! Maybe even leader! Though, there was a voice in the back of his mind, that had doubt. But why? He cleared his mind from these thought and slightly smiled back at his mentor, his eyes shining brightly. Not only was he the son of the deputy, but he was the apprentice of the leader!

Spottedfeather purred at her kits, now becoming warriors. Well, not she was able to go back to her deputy duties, but she was going to miss sleeping with her kits every night. She watched Dewstar take on Nightpaw herself, and he own former apprentice take on Flamepaw. While Spottedflight, her temporary replacement as deputy, took on Adderpaw.

Adderpaw looked over at Spottedflight. Who? He thought, then got up and waited. Wasn't that the cat with the similar-sounding name to Spottedfeather who took over his mother's role while she was in the nursery dealing with him and his littermates? Talk about convenient. Apparently Dewstar preferred deputies with the name 'Spotted'-something, or at least anyone like his mother in some way.
But if she took over as deputy in his mother's place, then she must be pretty cool, right? Also she's sorta like the secondary-deputy if she got to fill in for Spottedfeather. So Adderpaw's mentor is a secondary-deputy, in a way. Cool. Everything's chill.

Spottedflight let out a purr as she was given one of her friend's kits. She padded over to Adderpaw, giving him a smile before touching her nose to his. "Nice to meet you, Adderpaw," she mewed, trying to leave a good impression. Though she'd already trained three cats, the warrior was still a bit unsure of her capabilities as a mentor.

Meanwhile, Flamepaw tried to hide a bit of disappointment. Both of his brothers got amazing mentors and he got... Rainspot? He didn't even know who that was! It didn't seem fair to Flamepaw. But the more he thought about it, there weren't that many special cats, and if Dewstar thought this Rainspot was capable, she must be, right? So the new apprentice looked around, waiting for his mentor to greet him.

"Hi." Adderpaw greeted simply with a curt nod to his new mentor. "So when do we start training?" He asked curiously. He took a quick side-long glance at Flamepaw, wondering where his mentor was. Pure curiosity, not sympathy or worrying. No, Adderpaw was too cool for worrying, and he knew his brother was totally fine. Rainspot was probably just taking her time, or maybe she didn't even know there was a ceremony going on...Heh, the thought was kinda funny, though he didn't dare laugh at his brother. Bros stick together, right? Anyways, enough of this pointless text. Where the hell is Rainspot? >:I

Ic- Rainspot, who had totally been there the whole time, smiled and padded forward to greet her new apprentice. "Hello, Flamepaw.", she purred all friendly like. Her tail swished behind her gently. She could see he was a little disappointed. A laugh almost escaped her grey throat. " Your own mother trained me, I can't be that bad, right? Just because i'm not at a position of power doesn't mean that you'll become any less of a warrior."
