Spottedpaw(Roseya)'s Battle Training

Dewclaw tiptoed into the apprentices's den, nudging the right Spottedpaw awake. "Let's go get some training in, shall we?" She backed out and sat by the entrance.

Spottedpaw awoke to someone nudging her, looking up she saw Dewclaw back out of the den after mewing about training. Slowly getting up, she trudged out of the den and stretched as she yawned. Dang, she was not a morning cat. She walked back up to Dewclaw, waiting for him to continue.

"Excellent, you're up faster then most. Today is battle training- a personal favorite of mine." The gray she-cat stood up and led the still-drowsy Spottedpaw to the sandy hollow.


OOC: do you have any formal training with the battle system, or will I be starting from scratch?

Spottedpaw thought to herself 'This is going to be so fun! If I can wake up that is....'. "Im surprised that I got up".

OOC: Nope, first time. :P

Dewclaw mewed in amusement and began her lesson, deciding to start with the basics. "The tree trunks around here will be your targets. The first move every warrior learns is the front paw strike."
She slashed a paw at a tree stump.



Dewclaw used front paw strike on the tree stump, dealing 14 damage and using 10 stamina.

Spottedpaw walked up to a different tree and copied Dewclaws move and slashed a tree trunk with her smaller claws.


Spottedpaw used Front paw strike on tree trunk, dealing 6 damage, and using 10 stamina.

"Excellent form!" She said, watching her apprentice attack. "Next we have the belly rake." She sweeped to the side of a stump as if slipping under an enemy warrior and raked her claws across its side repeatedly, leaving deep scores.

Dewclaw used Belly rake, dealing 15 damage and using 10 stamina.

OOC: When you run out of HP, you faint or must flee. I believe you must also flee when you run out of stamina.

Spottedpaw tried to hurry and slide to the side of the tree, but tripped and fell in her rush. Getting up, she shook the dirt from her fur and scuffed the ground. Hoping it felt pain!

Spottedpaw used kill ground Belly rake (and failed), dealing 0 damage and using 10 stamina.

"We'll work on that one. But we should move on." She said. She tactfully jumped back onto the tree stump as if it were a warrior again and pinned it where one would pin and enemy.
Dewclaw used leap and hold, dealing ~ damage and using ~ stamina.

OOC: Now, when you perform this move, you must use the dice to see how long the effects last. First, you must go to 'post reply,' rather than the quickpost at the bottom. Under the box, it says 'Dices roll.' Click the down arrow and click 'effect dice.' Don't change the number next to 'Dice rolls,' as you only need to get one number. 1-3 means you hold them for a single turn. 4-6 means you've got them pinned for two turns.

Spottedpaw, more carefully, jumped on a stump and pretended to pin it, like a warrior or apprentice would be.

Spottedpaw used Leap and hold, dealing ~ damage and using ~ stamina.

OOC: I, myself, am feeling rather frisky today, so that is why I put those random things in there :P

"Remember to put your full weight on the enemy cat so they can't move." Now what was that last move? Ah, yes. "The final move is a move that stuns your opponent." Dewclaw squared up with Spottedpaw so that they were facing each other. She approached her, slipped around to her side, and gripped her tail with her teeth. "That's called tail yank. You slip around them and pull their tail really hard. It throws off their balance and gives you a slight advantage. You try."

OOC: Frisky indeed. :P

Spottedpaw had great balance and was light footed, except when she rushed and tried to put power into it. So put her body lower to the ground and lengthened her stride to quickly slide past Dewclaw and put her teeth around her tail and tugged ever so lightly on it, so not to hurt her, just to let her know she was there and had done it.

"That was excellent! You have a real sense of balance." Dewclaw beamed at Spottedpaw, her tail flicking back and forth. "Alright, that's good for today. Head on back without me, I have a bit of work to do."
