Ravenpaw's Border Patrol

Crowclaw sat impatiently waiting for his apprentice just outside of camp. He actually had only just sat down, but his expectations were high. He expected Ravenpaw to wake up and get out on her own, so hopefully it wouldn't take long.

Ravenpaw woke up, and she yawned and got up. She groomed herself and set out to camp. He padded to the black tom and flickered her ears glaring at him. "If you wanted me on time you should of woke me up." She spat, lowering her ears. "But, I'll be sure to get up on time next time." She put a happy face on her-self even though she was annoyed to the bone. She could tell she didn't like this tom already.

Crowclaw returned her snarl with a harsher one. "I shouldn't have to wake you up! Or are you still a helpless kitten?" He snapped, not liking her attitude. "Let's just get on with this already. Follow me. We're going to look at the borders." The tom began to pad away without waiting for her.

Ravenpaw followed after him rolling her eyes. "I'm not a helpless kit, at lest I'm not an annoy elder like you." She growled under her breath. "Ugh," She sighed, catching up to him.

Crowclaw grumbled. I heard that, he thought, though didn't continue the argument. He quickened his pace so it wouldn't take long to arrive at the first border; Also he wanted to bug Ravenpaw a bit as 'punishment' for being rude.

The firs border they visited was the border with Shadowclan, as well as some of Thunderclan. The Thunderpath. Crowclaw paused, barring her way with his tail. "Don't get too close. Monsters run at higher speeds than a rabbit on catnip here. They can flatten a cat with ease." He warned, looking around for any monsters before padding forward to check the scent markers.

Ravenpaw perked her ears at the different scents. "Why do they all have different scents?" She asked, flickering her tail, not wanting Crowclaw to touch her.

Crowclaw rolled his eyes. "There are different clans, obviously. Plus the monsters give off a really foul scent that's even worse than Shadowclan's disgusting smell." He explained with a bored look on his face. "Let's hurry up and get to the other border." He turned to leave, looking back to make sure she was done poking her nose at all the different scents.

Ravenpaw didn't move for a moment, then she followed after him. "Shouldn't you be the least bit happy that you got an apprentice?" She asked, with a bit of sadness on her face.


Talk about Bipolar....

Crowclaw didn't look at her, just kept walking. "Maybe, if my apprentice didn't act like a brat." He huffed. "I'm surprised I even got one. Raccoonstar seems to have lost trust in me long ago. Still, I guess I'm glad I can get the experience from training an apprentice." He admitted, casting a side-long glance at the rolling hills of Windclan territory. Next they were heading towards the Gorge. Now that he thought about it, all of Windclan's borders seemed dangerous.

Ravenpaw looked at the hills herself and looked back at the tom. "I heard having an apprentice brings you closer to leadership." She smiled, padding about the same pace as Crowclaw has been going.

Crowclaw perked his ears, looking back at her. "What does that have to do with me?" He huffed, not exactly fond of the topic. "My goal is to become the strongest, most skillful Warrior the clans have ever seen. I just want the experience..." He began to slow down suddenly, the roar of water crashing down onto rocks being heard in the distance.

"We're almost at the Gorge. Stay away from the edges. Many cats have died here." He warned.

Ravenpaw pushed close to Crowclaw, "R-really?" Her eyes widened in fear, she didn't want to walk the path, where she could die. She wanted to leave at that moment. She did not want to risk being here to where she could die.

Crowclaw gave her a nudge with his shoulder, annoyed at her sudden cowardice. Wasn't this the same cat calling him a grumpy elder earlier? "Toughen up. It's not like border patrols are dumb enough to go right up to the edge of the border to mark it. We all stand back some. Look-" He went over and brushed his pelt against a bush that was a good two fox-lengths from the Gorge's edge. "...See? It's fine." Crowclaw meowed, coming back over to her.

Ravenpaw lowered her ears, her pelt burning up of embarrassment. "But you just said, 'many cats have died here' I wasn't too sure... Move on." He said, with a fake smile.

"Yes, many stupid cats have died here. Others were, however, pushed. Some thrown. There are many reasons why a cat might have fallen to their death here. Let's not dwell on that topic though." Crowclaw grunted, padding along. "We'll be looking at the border that separates Windclan from outside the clan territories next. Then we'll go back to camp." The tom began walking the usual pace along towards the next border.
