ThunderClans Deputy

Mossstar slowly emerged from his new den, still getting used to being leader now. He sighed, finally have made a decision. With two quick leaps he was on the top of Highrock. He took a deep breath then yowled for the first time, "May all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Highrock for a Clan meeting!"

Lionheart sat down near the elders' den, watching the meeting. He had an idea of who the new deputy would be from their walk to the Moonstone, but maybe Mossstar had changed his mind in the time between then and now.

Honeypaw came padding from the apprentice den, letting out a yawn as she looked up at Mossstar. It was odd, Lionheart now being in the elders' den...She was going to miss him being leader. She was, however interested in who would be deputy. She sat down, her eyes wide as she waited for Mossstar to go on with the small Clan gathering.

Sitting in the cool shade of Highrock was Dewclaw, quietly listening to the breeze that rustled the branches surrounding the camp. When Mossstar called for the meeting, she snapped out of her daze and focused on the tom who looked somewhat different since his ceremony at the Moonstone. She had an idea what this was about.

Mossstar looked down at the Clan then took a deep breath before continuing, "As you know, recently Lionstar has retired and become Lionheart, making me leader now. So now I face the decision of choosing a deputy. I hope you all approve of my choice." He paused once more before he raised his head a little higher and spoke in a bolder voice, "I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The deputy of ThunderClan shall be Dewclaw."

Lionheart let out a soft purr of approval. So he hadn't changed his mind after all. That was fine, as Dewclaw had always seemed to be a worthy warrior. "Congratulations!" He called in a raspy voice.

IC: Dewclaw hesitated a moment before dipping her head. "Thank you, Mossstar; I will do my best to provide for the Clan." It seemed almost surreal to her. But she was happy to have the chance to serve her Clan, no matter what. She looked at Lionheart as he congratulated her and noticed the gray hairs springing up much more than she used to. "Thank you, Lionst- um, Lionheart." It felt odd to address him as such. She was always thought of him by the noble name of Lionstar, but the again, Lionheart was also a very fitting name.

Mossstar nodded then purred before jumping down "I'm sure you will Dewclaw." Then he went to eat and do all of his other duties.
