Eaglekit's First Hunt

Eaglekit race out of the nursery, a white feather floating through the air a rabbit-hop away. He swiped a paw at it, sending it fluttering higher into the air and farther from him. With a growl of frustration he ran forward, leaping onto it and rolling across the ground. In a cloud of dust he stood up, coughing and spluttering, dirt clinging to his fur, and the white feather in his jaws. A laugh of amusement sounded behind him and he pricked his ears, whirling around.

Nightcloud smiled softly from her spot next to the warrior den, having been watched the young kit play with the white feather. She recalled hunting as a kit, but that seemed like so long ago. When Eaglekit spun around to face her, she gave him a sheepish grin. "Hehe, hello there little one."

Eaglekit spat the feather out, wrinkling his nose as he stifled a sneeze. "Hi, Nightcloud." he murmued, sitting back on his haunches as he pawed his nose.

Shadeclaw padded into camp, dropping a few fresh pieces of prey on the pile before looking over, tipping his head a little. "Oh hey, looks like Eaglekit's out of the Nursery." He meowed with a small smile. It was always nice to see Shadowclan's little future-Warriors running around outside of their nest for the first time. They always seemed so excited to mess with everything. At that thought, the tom chuckled, coming over to sit down by Nightcloud.

Eaglekit watched Shadeclaw pad into camp and drop his kill on the pile. Scrambling to his paws he raced towards the pile, tumbling into it and grasping a frog in his paws. "I'll be the best warrior ever!" he declared, tail lashing as he picked the amphibian up by a leg.
