Doin' Kit Things

Spottedkit yawned as she woke up. She crawled out of her nest and stretched, arching her back as high as she could. Then she straightened out, blinking the last bit of the sleep from her eyes. She knew she should wait for her mother to wake up, but she had been told today she would be able to leave the nursery. And Spottedkit couldn't wait to leave the nursery, see the outside. So, she trotted out and into the fresh air.

The open air was so foreign to her, Spottedkit was slowed down. She sat just outside the nursery entrance now, sniffing all the new scents carried on the light breeze. Then she looked around, to see what other cats were out and about in the some-what early morning.

Sitting in the middle of the camp was Honeypaw. She had awoken early in hopes that today would a new lesson from Lionstar or Dewclaw but there was one flaw in her plan. Neither cat were awake yet. She glanced around the camp when she saw Spottedkit coming from the nursery, a smile spreading across the apprentice's face. Honeypaw got to her paws and made her way over to the kit. "Hello there!"

Spottedkit saw the apprentice approaching, and felt a little nervous, never having met any cats other than the kits and her mother.  But this cat seemed friendly, so the kit realized she had nothing to worry about.  "Hello! I'm Spottedkit, what's your name?" she squeaked brightly, rushing to say everything while more thoughts piled in her mind.

Mossfur was sunning herself when she saw Spottedkit. She got up and shook herself off."Hi! I'm Mossfur."

Spottedkit was now dancing on her feet and swishing her tail, bubbling with energy. When she saw an older cat, probably a warrior, approaching, she tried to settle down, but her attempts were futile. "Hi Mossfur!" she squeaked, "I'm Spottedkit! It's nice to meet you!"

Mossfur was amused by Spottedkit's excitement. "So is this your first time out?"

"It's Honeypaw," she said but she quickly frowned when Mossfur came out of nowhere and took the kit's attention. Well, there goes showing off her new knowledge of the world to the kit. However, she soon smiled when she saw how happy Spottedkit was and glanced at Mossfur, dipping her head in greetings. "Oh, hello Mossfur."

Mossfur dipped her head to Honeypaw. "How's your training doing?" she wanted an apprentice of her own and remembered how it felt like being an apprentice.

"Yep! It's so open out here!" She said to Mossfur. Spottedkit's excitement seemed to dim a bit as the two cats started to talk about training, realizing that her own training was a long way off.

"The forest is even more open." Mossfur sat down smiled at both the cats.
