Lightkit escapes the camp

Lightkit walked out of the nursery with nothing to do. She looked around. Everyone was busy. No one was looking. She made a dash for it. Lightkit's small gray feet thudded on the ground. She ran as fast as she could. Once she got out of the camp, Lightkit stopped running. She walked over to the river that went around Riverclan's camp. She sat down and looked into the rushing water. "I wonder what the water feels like." She said aloud. She knew she shouldn't go in. And she knew not to go out of the camp but she did that anyways. She stuck a paw in. The next thing she knew, she was in the water. The current was pushing her away from the entrance of the camp. She tried to swim but the current was to strong. "Help!" She screamed. She was getting to a rough part of the stream. The water was pushing her under. She was screaming for help and gasping for air. Then she felt someone grab her by the scruff of her neck. She looked back and saw.....

Silvershade! Deputies to the rescue. She paddled hard against the current, dragging the kit and herself to the edge. She swore through grit teeth and fur as a sharp rock went past them, hitting her back, sending her tumbling under the current. She kicked off of the next stable rock, and finally managed to reach the shore, dropping the kit, breathing heavily.

Lightkit looked at the other cat with guiltiness and sorrow in her eyes. She didn't know that she was the deputy. Lightkit collapsed on the ground. Her legs were tired of trying to swim. Lightkit tried to talk but all she could do was spit water out of her mouth.

Silvershade eyed the kit; she would've raised an eyebrow if she had eyebrows. (xD) She walked over there slowly, looking down at her. "Are you alright, Lightkit?"

Lightkit looked up at Silvershade. "Yes" Lightkit said in a shakey voice. She was wet, cold, and miserable.

Silvershade picked her up by the scruff carefully and made their way back to camp. Dropping Lightkit off in the nursery, she poked her head into Froststar's den. "Froststar?" she called quietly.
