Herb Training

Kestrelflight waited for her apprentice in a small clearing she had told her to meet. Beside her, was a few random leaves she could spare to show and help her apprentice find. She had been extremely vigilant with the young cat's training, as she could feel her time ticking.

Ivypaw appeared from around the trunk of a tree. "Hey, Kestrelflight!" she greeted, ready to burst with excitement.

"Sit down." she said with a nod, motioning to a spot in front of her. "We're going to go over some rules." Kestrelflight pushed the first herb in front of her, blinking. "This is cat mint. Very useful for green cough and white cough."

Ivypaw bent her head forward to take a sniff of the catmint. "It smells amazing!" she remarked.

"Of course it does." Kestrelflight snapped. Sighing, she pushed a dark red berry in front of her paws. "Now, this is a death berry. It should only be used at the most dire of situations. For example, if an apprentice or warrior is in great pain and can not be saved, this will be the best way to help a cat to StarClan. What should you do if a cat accidently eats one of these?"

Ivypaw stared in horror, thinking of what one of these berries could do to a cat. "Umm," she stalled. "It makes sense to make the cat try to throw up, but.. how? Pounce on their stomach or something?"

Kestrelflight laughed. Almost a cruel laugh. "You use a stinging nettle." Rolling her eyes, she pushed forward another herb. "What is this?"

Ivypaw looked at the herb, but she didn't know. "I have no idea," she admitted, not meeting her mentor's eyes.

Kestrelflight nodded. "It's thyme. It calms nerves and helps with shock. Take a sniff."

OOC: Oh okay, I forgot about that :P

IC: "That sounds really useful, and it smells good too," Ivypaw remarked, sniffing the bundle of thyme.

"Now, can you list everything I just taught you with their uses?" Kestrelflight asked, sitting up.
