Little "Talk"

Embershade padded over to a deserted area of camp, wondering what Icestream wanted to talk to her about. "What is it?" She asked him, getting curious.

Icesteam sat down in front of her. "You know I have to leave to my camp soon." He said, looking down.

"You do?" Embershade asked sadly.

Icestream nodded. "We can't stay here forever." He got up, and rubbed ageist her side.

"Oh." Embershade's spirits fell, the fun afternoon she was having, turning to a terrible one. "When are you leaving?" She asked, her head down, staring into nothingness.

Icestream shrugged "I have no idea." He said, fighting back tears. "But I'll think about you..." He said, thinking it out loud.

"That's so sweet." Embershade said, licking Icestream's cheek. "I'll miss you." She murmured.

Icestream purred, "I know you will... I will too." He looked down, as she licked him. "But my clan needs me." He pointed out.

But why? Embershade complained in her head. She padded over to him, and sat down, resting her head on his flank. "You're just... So different from everyone else." She managed to get out. "That's why I love you."

Icestream looked up at her. "And you're the most caring a loving cat I've ever meant..." He said softly. D-does she know about Kes(Lazy)? He asked in his head.

Embershade's eyes watered. "I can't take this." She whispered, jumping to her paws. She ran through the tunnel, and into the forest filled with scents of life. She sprinted as long as she could until she found a high tree, and climbed so high, the ground looked so far away.

Icestream ran after her. Slowly following, after her. He looked down, lowering his ears. "How can I live without her?" He asked himself.

Embershade lay in the tree, sobbing, not even seeing Icestream yet. She closed her eyes, wishing this terrible day would end already.

Icestream found the tree she was in and he climbed it, softly. "Ember-" He cut himself off. "You know we must have the best time before my clan and I go." He purred, rapping his tail around hers.

Embershade lifted her ears, listening, with her eyes closed. "I know." She agreed. "But what about when you leave? What will I do without you?" She asked.
